I hate to say it but I probably would have done what Suzie did. Everyone knew what danger staying would be, and Cesar wouldn't have wanted any harm to come to Suzie. And, I would definitely want to try and find my family

I don't think I could have let Cesar go, so I don't see how she could. Besides that, she wasn't even sure whether her father would still be alive and such. She didn't know much about America, did she? That made it quite risky for her to go there as well..

Ehhh, I think I'm the only one that's going to disagree with everyone and say that it was right for her to leave. If she had stayed with him, the Nazis would have definitely killed her. I'm a Jew, and I know how important it is to have pride for my religion. Although Cesar really did love her, at least one of them would have been killed if she stayed. Now that she left, though, they're both alive and living good lives, even without each other. Soooo, yeah. I went out on a limb and said that family's more important.

Hmmm... Yeah, I think you've got a point there.. If just the Nazis hadn't been there everything would have been different. It's really sad that it had to be this way.
You're not the only one who thinks so though, Lynx seems to feel the same.

I actually voted for the first option. Would they have been happy if she stayed to live her life onthe run from the Nazis? They had nearly caught up with her. This ending was so much more realistic, imho.
Yes, a nice trite happy ending would've been cool, but now Cesar is free to be with me (or you...take a number.)

The only thing I can think of is when he said all of the children were his and they were all his family...but I thought that was a metaphor... It is more than just a metaphor--their culture shares the responsiblity of rearing all the children. Not at all unusual. It takes a (traveling) village!

I think I would have done what Suzie did. #eww# It's such a hard decision, I spent a while trying to decide. I loved Cesar though, it must've been so hard for Suzie to leave him. After the war, I'd go back and look for Cesar though.
