Before-mathArenas glanced at the dark and imposing area and sighed. It was going to be an all nighter, something she hadn’t done in at least a month. She hoped she still remembered how and withdrew her trusty secret weapon. “Joaquin? I need you to do some hunting for me. No, no… no… Oh come on, I’m entitled to do something legal every once in awhile, aren’t I? Listen, I need access to a lumber yard, the cheaper the better. Find some place that can keep me under budget, I’ll be a happy camper and you just might have earned yourself that lunch box. I, uh… don’t exactly have the bonus I hinted at earlier though… someone else managed to over extend their own resources.” It took a grand total of 2 minutes for Joaquin to locate exactly what she was looking for. The Jeep was equipped with a trailer hitch and was enlisted in the war against dreariness. Stuff was loaded up, plastic was passed and Arenas soon guided the vehicle back to LM&M’s stomping grounds. “Maybe I should have had Joaquin find a home designer too… ah well,” Arenas shrugged and set to work. The first to go was the dark wood paneling. Nothing said ‘I’m am out to try to scare the pants off you so leave me alone,’ like dark wood paneling. There was something invigorating about wielding a vicious crowbar at a wall, but she’d deny it later. The roof was also in need of a bit of help, what with the giant gaping hole and all. Consulting her new books Roofing for Dummies and The Jumbo Duct Tape Book, she managed to repair the splintered roof to help make the next phase of construction a tad easier. Before she called it a night, she took her now favorite crow bar to the carpet and brought in the rest of the supplies from the trailer. The next day was all about construction and bringing it all together. After-mathThe final touches had been added and the place was presentable. The carpet was thick and plush, so as to prevent the accidental scissors sticking that would have accompanied pine flooring. A bar had been set up in the corner. The lights had been dimmed, but not uninvitingly so. It was stocked with every kind of ingredient necessary for any drink imaginable. On the counter were custom coasters and behind the bar on shelves were sets of different colored glasses. The walls hadn’t been redone in wood, that would have tried Arenas’ patience. Instead, she’d gotten some spray paint and went at the (now) whitewashed walls with stencils. Celtic knots bordered the entire room and even adorned the molding. The crown achievement of Arenas’ redecorating career was the skylight. Currently, the roof was simply that, a black expanse of dark wood with lights hung from the rafters. However, at the touch of a wall panel (it requires minimal pressure for times when human hands simply won’t do), a humming is heard, and a whole section of the roof begins to lift up and disappear. Instead of the whole that was, there are skylights that let in unbelievable amounts of light without the problem of water damage. And whenever the skies get cloudy and become unbearable to look at, it’s not a problem to touch the panel and have the roof slide back into place. As a last embellishment, Arenas hangs the picture behind the bar. She wipes a hand across her forehead and sits on a barstool expectantly. Joaquin gets a bonus after this. A big one.

Apparently, it's 146x176. If you'd like it as an avatar, I can definitely shrink it for you. Glad you like your new place, LM&M. This one's 82x100. It'll fit, and it doesn't look that bad.
