Jay tiptoes over to the sofa, careful not to disturb the snoozing DB. In her arms she carries a blanket which she drapes over the unconscious Angel.
Creeping back out, she gestures to John who is, naturally, curious of their new visitor.
"DB is here for some much needed rest," Jay whispers.
"Doesn't seem polite," John mutters mutinously, "Coming to someone else's place just to fall asleep."
"Since when have you been the model of politeness?" Jay questions, her hand on her hip, "Need I remind you of the last time we visited someone." John gives an almost imperceptible wince.
"Exactly, so do as your told for once in your life and leave poor DB well alone."
John retreats scowling as Jay hangs a 'do not disturb' sign on the door.

DB woke, yawned and stretched. "Well, that was refreshing, indeed." She took a contented breath, then paused, sensing someone else in the room.
"You must be John," she said.
"That's right."
"I'm afraid I don't know much about you...I haven't seen your movie. High rating and all."
"I see. Well, don't let it trouble you too much. Hope the davenport suited you."
"It did. Thanks."
There was an uncomfortable silence. DB attempted, "Nice place you have here. Wish I could see it."
"Hello, everyone!" Jay came walking in.
"Oh, Jay!" DB grinned quickly.
"So glad you're back, my love," John said, clearly relieved.
DB stood, took a step forward, tripped over an ottoman and tumbled into Jay's arms. "Guess I'll be going now. Thanks for the reprieve from my bio thread." ;D

Hello there, Issy I'd recommend doing a web search on local poetry/fiction competitions in your area. That should pull up any local places that accept or encourage submission of writing. You might be able to find freelance opportunities with local newspapers (including their online equivalent, if they have one). Also, if you have any special interests/talents it might be worth researching appropriate publications which could use your expertise. Let me know if you have any luck. Jay (and John!)
