I was just in Disney World and thank goodness my family got to the Magic Kingdom early that day. We beat the crowds and only waited twenty minutes to get on Pirates of the Caribbean. I got so excited when I saw Scarlet and the man in the well in the town, just like Tortuga. And the prisoners tempting the dog, and the pirates invading. AND the skeleton at the wheel, 'Dead Men Tell No Tales,' etc.
The gift shop sold overpriced POTC dvds and some fun pirate merchandise. My sister and I had fun playing with the stuff for half an hour. Haha. Who else has been on the ride? Anyone? -DaDi

Yes, but years ago. It was my favorite ride then, and the reason I went to see the movie. I'm afraid I must confess that I didn't really know who Johnny Depp was before PotC - of course, now I know better. But yes - love the ride. Pirates singing "Yo-ho, Yo-ho, a Pirate's Life for Me" . . . the fight between the two ships, complete with expotions . . . the burning town . . . the dog. I love that ride. Can't say that enough. The movie did it justice.

Pirates is one of my all-time favorite rides--I've probably been on it 50+ times since I was a kid. Sooooo great! Always loved going through the bayou at the start and then the talking skull just before the first drop. So much fun! It was closed when I went to Disneyland last year in May but I hope to get back there in the not too distant future. ;D

I haven't been on the ride, BUT i did watch the making of it on the PotC 2nd DVD. For being an ancient ride, it didn't look half that bad!

Hehe actully quite embrassing seeing the movie like 5 times in the theatre and then buying it on dvd has persaded me now to plan my next summer vaction there. I really love that ride that and Space Mountain, and The Haunted Mansion (that is actully my favorite ride even thought it scared the heck out of me when I was a kid) I saw the little The Wonderful World of colour show that they had included on the dvd. That was really great it was like taking the ride again and learning abou the history of it. To be honest I don't rember much from the ride since I havn't done it for a while. Oh and I have one of those little sing along songs tapes at my house and I think one of them has the ride secaunce in it and the words to the song.

I forced my parents to ride that ride 20+ times when we went and I was at age five. Did the same thing when we went again at ages 7 and 10. Then when we took my brother for his fifth b-day we both made them ride it 20+ times. This was all before PotC and being a experienced veteran of the ride makes the movie all the more special. Haven't been back since then but looking forward to the next trip whenever that may be

I've been on it a couple times. It was certainly my favorite ride. Cause I've never been a big thrill ride person. Heck...I can't even climb a ladder without getting nervous! That and I've been to Dinseyworld a lot only cause my Dad used to live in Florida. Then he had to move.

What's the differences between the one at DisneyLand and the one at DisneyWorld?

the one at disneyland was the original that walt disney helped to plan and create...and the boats are smaller and hold less people wich makes them more roomy and comfy. and the one at disneyworld was made some years later..after walt died. the boats are bigger and much slower not the the ride is a fast one anyway..hehe
