At last, a Lost in La Mancha forum! (it looks great Quixy Trix ) I loved this documentary, it really opened my eyes to how a film is actually made and how many people it involves. And to see it all falling apart, it was heartbreaking really! What a film it would have been though! Some of the bits Johnny managed to complete had me in stitches ;D.

Didn't Johnny say: "It's every actor's dream to improvise with a dead fish? Those are the moments you really live for.. at least I do" ? (Something to that effect?) And I know this was in the rumored films thread: www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1485357,00.html Reports that Terry Gilliam is gonna try to resurrect The Man who Killed Don Quixote once again. He syas he had made a deal with Johnny after it's first failure, that they each would make a commercial movie to aquire movie for this movie. I really do wish we get to see the rest of Gilliam's dream!!

^^^ you'll need to copy and paste the above link to read the interview as its broken for some reason Roo We can only hope and keep our fingers crossed that The Grimm Brothers does really well at the box office so this movie can finally take its place in history. Come on Terry and Johnny make it happen

S.S. you are right... Roo are you sure what's wrong with it? The only conclusion I can draw is maybe the link is confused because there are two "," right next to each other. I have no idea I'm pretty sure that Gilliam is dead-set on making this film, I just hope Johnny keeps his promise *fingers crossed*

This documentary was most important to me because it was featuring Johnny and Terry, a great great great director, and I myself want a career in directing aswell, so it helped me to see, like Lynx said, all the people it took to make a film, and how so many things can go wrong for a scene. I loved every minute of it. The Johnny interview wa pretty sweet too

You want to be a director? That is amazing H.F., what a wonderful career to look into. I was simply amazed by all of the work that goes on behind the scenes of a film. I mean, when you see a picture, it is easy to take it for granted, all of the wonderful effects and dialogue you see happening, but really absorbing every aspect as the documentary shows.. is so amazing.

Yea, it's gonna take a lot of work and I've already looked into what college I want to attend and what workshops/academies I'd like to spend a year at after college, I'm also planning on directing the yearly play they do at my high school to get some experience, although its not on film, but hey, its directing! So anyway, I really do hope they get enough money to start this thing up again, although it would ahve to be awhile ince Johnny is like booked till 2008

HF that is incredible, I must agree with Quix on that one! Best of luck with your plans. I am more than positive you can do anything you put your mind to. And practise is always good. Johnny certainly has become a very busy man with a large work load since Pirates! I agree there.. completely.

I agree that the behind the scenes aspect of movies is facinating. That's really my favorite part of film extras -- behind the scenes footage and commentary. Actor commentary, director commentary, writer commentary...doesn't matter. I love to watch PotC and OUATIM for the commentaries. Especially with RR. He always makes me think, "wow...I could do that" when it comes to technical behind the scenes stuff.
I don't know if I could direct though. That really puts you in charge of a lot of stuff.

I really loved this film about a great film that really needs to get made one day! Johnny has done so much since then, I think his added experience will make it even better. That fish will still be dead though.......

I am hoping that they get a different fish. That might just be me. Poor little scaley friend. And yes Psnoo, you are very right. Directing puts a ton of pressure upon your shoulders, I have a great deal of respect for the men and women of the business. I really do hope to see this film through to the final project and Johnny on board (Vanessa too, fingers crossed) The first thing I do when I get a new film on DVD is watch all of the extra footage, it gives you such a great appreciation for all of the work that went on behind close doors and what we don't see. so to speak.
