And I'm thinking Barbossa was pretty confident anyway. It takes severe confidence to lead a mutiny, wouldn't you think?

And he was also pretty confident that Jack wouldn't really try to kill him in CoTBP. So he was pretty shocked when Jack shot him and he realized he was dying.

Well, I think he was more shocked that he wasn't immortal any more...after all, Jack had stabbed him at the beginning of the fight so I don't think Barbossa was in much doubt as to Jack's ultimate intentions. Death did come as a shock to him though, no doubt about that. I expect it would take me by surprise too.
