It's discussion time, guys! I cried. Twice. I think I needed a good cry and the bit where they're watching the play at the house always gets me. I think the most moving part (apart from Peter on the bench!) is when Peter Pan asks them whether they believe in fairies and tells them what to do to save Tinkerbell's life...and Sylvia's mother claps her hands first as if by doing so she might be able to save her daughter too Oh, it gets me every time. I think it must be difficult to marry someone who is living inside their own head a lot of the time...and, as Mary herself says, it is very naive to believe that you will be taken to the place they disappear to so often. I don't think their marriage could have been saved simply because neither was willing to compromise. James would never have stopped writing and Mary would never have stopped wishing for a different life to the one she had. I'm getting all upset again now! Time for someone else to share their thoughts

Time for someone else to share their thoughts Pretending doesn't solve problems, and I don't think Barrie believed it does, But.. it does foster brainstorming, which can help find solutions to problems. And no, there should never be a limit to the use of imagination! I agree with Jay about the marriage being a bad match. Irreconcilable differences, indeed. Do I cry? Oh yes! I cry for Peter's loss and confusion. I cry the most when I see the little orphans sitting enraptured by the play and when Peter Pan says, (in the play) "To die would be an awfully big adventure." and the ending....sob city.

Okay it's my turn to pick the fortnight's Johnny Depp feature is: Cry Baby
Discussion points:
Do you think Cry Baby and Allison were made for each other?
What scene made you laugh?
What is the funniest scene?
Would you like to live in Turkey Point, and so yes Why?
And do you consider yourself a Drape or a Square?
You can pop the DVD in when you get the chance over this week and we can have our Cry Baby discussion! ;D
