The Great Autumn Gifting (a fic exchange)

In response to this PB snafu, let's get some positive feelings in here. Welcome all to the inaugural Great Autumn Gifting! Do you like Secret Santas but can’t stand that it’s not yet Christmas? Like to write? We can get you into the spirit of things right here, right now. Who knows? Maybe you’ll brighten up someone’s day. (This is a bit lengthy, but stick with me, my story gets better.)


Premise:
You sign up to write a story of at least 1000 words and receive one from another member on this site. All of this is done strictly anonymously (no talking about your submissions with other people!) to heighten the pleasure of guessing who wrote what story before the Big Reveal.


Rules:
-Stay anonymous! It’s no fun otherwise.

-Your story must be at least 1000 words long, no less. It may be however long you wish, however it must be finished when you send it in to me.

-Please use standard English. A beta reader (someone who looks over stories and catches mistakes) is highly recommended, but not required. A comma misplaced isn’t a big deal, but consistent misspellings and poor grammar is a bummer. Make sure your story is readable.

-That said, if you want me to look it over before I post, write a note to me when you send your story over.

-Please keep all stories to PG-13 and under. This is a family friendly board.

-Please fill out all areas of the sign up sheet and make sure you pay attention to the directions given.

-When you receive your info for the person you’re writing for, please try to incorporate as many of their preferences as you can. It’s for them, remember; you’re getting your own story later on.

-All genres welcome, including AU’s (alternate universes), crossovers, etc. just keep in mind the person you have to write for. (Though feel free to browse the site and sneakily discern things they may be currently into. Benny and Joon with an appearance by Edward and Bella or something to that effect. Don’t feel limited by Johnny—use him as a jumping off point.)

-When your story is finished, email it to [e-mail]. Refer to the timeline to see when your story must be sent in.

-If you find you can’t finish your story by the time it’s due, please, please, PLEASE email me so I can find a pinch hitter.

-Extensions will be given if you have papers and essays and midterms and real life bogging you down. Just PM to request one, you’ll get an extra six days to get your story in.


Timeline
Friday, 19 September -- Last day to sign up and PM your sheets to me.
Monday, 22 September -- All assignments should be sent out. (PM me if you haven’t got one.)
Saturday, 11 October -- Status report. PM me with the state of your fic, whether you think you’ll finish it or not. I don’t have to see anything but the status. I start handing out pinch hit assignments to cover gaps left by busy people.
Sunday 26 October -- All fic is due! (Unless you’ve requested an extension or are doing a pinch hit.) Stories will begin being posted that Monday.
Saturday, 1 November -- People with extensions or who are pinch hitting must have their fic in by today.
