I've actually watched lots of johnny movies in the past four days... I decided it was time to do so and I did.. Going to watch From Hell this afternoon again I'd probably give this movie a **** Mostly because of Johnny's performance

It sure is!
Anyways, I saw it again and I can't say that Heather's accent annoyed me... But perhaps that's because I'm not English..

Heather did do a fine job on the accent, I think she deserves that much of a credit. But what put me off about her performance is the lack of...grit. I mean, she was a prostitute living in hard times and well it wasn't beleiveable at all. Her attire and general appearence was exceedingly clean and almost perfect compared to the other "unfortunates". (Not that prostitues are all dirty stinky ppl, mind you ). I give the other girls the thumbs up for a more real and persuasive portrayal. And the movie IS awesome Iggy! ;D

Well if Heather's character was dirty and icky the romance would be taken out of the story...ya know? I'm sure her character was written in like that to enhance the story, not take away the romance. Just my opinion

Hmmm.. yeah.. I guess that's not really her fault though. That's the make-up, right? But you do have a point in saying that it's at least a bit odd that she's so clean while the others aren't. Besides that, she could have said something about it..

There is that. For some reason, people must be clean for love to flourish. Silly movie people. If I made the movie, there'd be more dirt. London was (heck, most major cities were) very dirty back then. Especially if you didn't really have a place to sleep.

I think Heather did a superb job. Her accent was excellent. Maybe not completely spot on, but for her first accent in a movie, she did a great job. I guess with all the teeny bopper flicks she did before this film, it's hard to take her seriously. But I think she's starting to make up for it now. I give this movie a ****1/2, mainly cause of Johnny (but then again I'm a tad bit biased, but ohwell), but also because Martin Childs did such a spectacular job on the production design. I would have never guessed that the movie was entirely filmed in the Czech Republic, it looked so realistic. Also kudos to Peter Deming, the cinematographer, for his fantastic work, which brought a new level of realism to the film. As I watched the film I felt like I was right there with the characters, walking through Buckingham Palace, or a dark alley way. Ok, that sounded a little bit more "Ebert and Roeper"-ish than I intended, but ohwell. That's my two cents. Tiffany
