Dean is great, what else can I say that hasn' t been said? This is probably also the first (maybe only) film where Johnny actually looks a lot older than he normally is, and Roman Polanski brings that up in the commentary. He looks like a much more refined gentleman than the puppy-eye boy toy we know (but still love!). And I find the very idea of him being a rare book dealer/collector quite sexy.

He may have grey streaks... but with as many Jack Sparrow facial expressions, it is REALLY hard to picture him as "older..."

I don't know if it would be easy to pay attention in that class. A teacher like that can be quite distracting.

Ohh! That grey streak! OMG, I almost swooned where I sat. Seriously. And the open black shirt at the beginning. And those glasses! The ones that got broken! Those are my favorite. Very attractive. I liked the way I kept mistaking in the ends of the ear pieces for an earring. Very out of place, but such a sit up and take notice moment. As if everything before that wasn't. But I have to ask: did anyone else think that there was a studied lack of accent to 'Dean' voice? Seriously, his voice was rather bland when compared to some of the other characters that Johnny has played. At the very beginning when he's conning those people out of the Don Quixote set, before we saw him, I couldn't figure out who was talking. I was all, "Is that Johnny?" And it was. I was totally wowed.

That's a great observation, SchizoDoc. His voice wasn't necessarily Johnny. Dean is more subdued and studied. That may have something to do with it.

This probably sounds callous and stupid, but I was somewhat reminded of the Mr. Smith (from The Matrix) accent in Dean Corso. I could totally imagine him drawling out "Missstur Anndursonn.."
