Yeah, not to offend any body but this sounds like it might be phony to me. Super Man is pretty main-stream for Johnny...

Before I start, I'd first like to say this is all my opinon, and I really hope I don't offend you in anyway. And if I do, here is a before-hand apology Sowwy Yes, Johnny stays away from those mainstream roles, but its not like he literally tries to avoid them at any cost. It's the character that attracts the man to the roles, and I myself think Lex would be a great character for Johnny to play. Plus he'd have to go bald again! Unless they don't stay true to the real Lex Luthor. I can definitly see Johnny as Lex, Lex is those dark types that seem like he's on your side, but the next minute, he'll be with another side. Like in Secret Window, Johnny was saying how the reason why he picked the movie was because of all the twists and turns the script had, and in a way, Lex himself is also a maze. This of course, is just my honest opinon.

Oh wow, I didn't mean to make you mad. I honestly shouldn't have said anything, as I know nothing of Superman (and therefor nothing of Lex Luthor) Now that I know about the character I can see Johnny more positively in the role.

I'm with you on that theory, HF. It's not that he tries to avoid the mainstream... it's just that it rarely appeals to him. He's interested in the character, and whether he could bring something interesting to that character... which I think he probably would with Lex Luthor. Besides, I think Johnny would have a lot of fun with Lex Luthor. Oh yes, a lot. That'd be way more fun to watch than Bruce Willis as Lex. Anyday.

Totally agree with you there Hf , the main reasons he avoids mainstream is because there is rarely an interesting or challenging role within in them and thats what seems to fuel Johnny, challenges and complex characters.

After all, his first experience with a bald head in a movie was a blast for him, I think he should go for it if the script is good enough. I don't want to be holding him back from a movie just because I don't like his character, that'd be a bit selfish you konw? But hey, everyone's got their own opinons And yea, that was cheesy, what I said, I agree I usually get that way, all mushy and blahh when talking about Johnny

I think that how the writers have written Lex will be the deciding factor if Johnny does it. That, and his shooting schedule for Willy Wonka. If Lex has been written as a complicated character, that's great. But if the writers didn't go the extra step to make him a fully realized character, then there's no way that Johnny will do it.
Oh, and I think another factor might be if Jack wants to see his daddy in a Superman movie. ;D If he did, I think Johnny would do everything he could to do it. He's like that.
