I just graduated high school in June as valedictorian. I had a tough time deciding between University of Cincinnati and The Ohio State University. OSU gave me pretty much a full ride, so I decided to go there. So far, so good. Finals this week though. =/

Congrats LM&M, I didn't know you were valedictorian! That's awesome! A lot of my friends are at OSU.. I hope you're enjoying it! BGSU is soooo great so far! The music program is amazing, though they have me very busy. This week is finals week, and then winter break! Yay resting. But it really is amazing here. I've made some great friends, had mannnnnyyy singing opportunities, and I feel very comfortable.

You're taking music Rollie? Is it only singing, or do you play instruments as well?
I just had finals week too! It can be stressful, but winter break feels good after a whole semester of hard work. ;D

I'm majoring in Vocal Music Education, so I mostly sing, but I also play piano, a bit of guitar, and formerly cello. I'll have to take some instrumental classes later, and I'm taking piano lessons next semester.
Ughh finals week! I hope yours went well, Illy. I'm halfway done, but the hard ones are over with.
What do you study, and where do you go?

That's really neat! I love the guitar and the piano, but I don't play either one. Mine went well. It's always good to get the hard ones out of the way first. If they're last, it makes you worry a lot more. I'm in the Administrative Assistant program in the Executive field at Mohawk College. Haha, that doesn't sound very exciting does it? Good luck on the rest of your exams! ;D

It does sound interesting love, I don't know many details about administrative assisting, but I'm sure you are doing wonderfully. I got my first semester grades! I'm fairly happy with them...A's and B's, except for one C. It was irritating though, one of the Bs was one percent away from an A. Ah well. The class I got a C in was Aural Skills, which is sight singing and ear training.. much of that is either a natural talent or an acquired skill, so it kinda sucks to me graded on how well I do as opposed to effort. Again, ah well, I'll just keep trying.

Lol, it's basically being a secretary, and thank you. I got my marks back too and am happy with them. I got all A's. But one mark was pretty crappy looking compared to the rest, haha. I'll be starting my last semester on Monday! It's incredible how fast time is going. I just started college not too long ago!! You gotta hate those kinds of classes, but the important thing is you did your best. Good job on your marks - you did well! Good luck with next semester!

Your last semester, wow!! It's crazy how fast time goes... and congrats on all A's! Gah, this sememster I'm taking 20 credit hours... that's basically an obsene amount, but I don't want to drop anything. I'm taking Music Theory II, Aural Skills II, Singer's Diction II, Piano, Jazz Pedagogy, Psychology, English, Vocal Jazz, A Capella Choir, private voice lessons, and singer's studio. All fun stuff for the most part, but aghhh it's a lot of work. Like with diction, first semester we focused on how to sing in Italian, which I have background in. Now we're doing French and German.. German is ok, but I have literally never even spoken French in my life, let alone sung it! I'm also going to have to practice piano like mad, cuz I passed out of the first level, but only just barely. Also, it's cold. The high today is 3 degrees, getting as low as -25 with windchill. Eff. Pardon my mini-rant

Wow, you got quite a bit on your plate there Rollie! I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm not really loving this semester. I have Executive Computer Skills, Advanced Web Page Design, Executive Office Management Skills, Accounting - Executive - 2, Integrated Office Simulations, Portfolio Development and Career Search, and I'll have co-op for the last two weeks of the semester. There's going to be lots of group work, which I don't particularly enjoy, presentations , which I really don't like, and a mock interview, which I really hate. God help me! I'm really nervous about co-op too. This is going to be a really nerve racking semester for me. Thank goodness it's the last one. I don't think I could take any more of this.

Awww babe... I'm sure you will rock them, though that does sound like a lot to handle! With the presentations and interview just be confident - even if you have to fake confidence, it will probably go a lot more smooth. You can do it. I think I'm dropping my English class. It just doesn't feel right, and with 20 credit hours, I definitely have an excuse to take a different English next semester. It should all work out better. Still cold though *shivvveerrrr!*

Thanks Rollie! ;D That makes me feel better. Haha, you've definitely got a good excuse to take English a different semester. I'm sure it will work out better. You'll be really busy and having English right now on top of everything else must be stressful, especially during midterms and exams. *shudders just thinking about exams* It's freezing here too! I was in the car for not even a whole hour and both my feet felt like they were blocks of ice!

I think I'm a bit of a slacker compared to you guys. I'm only taking 16 credits this semester, lol. Technically, I think I only need 8 more after this to graduate (which means I could leave a semester early), but I'll probably hang around for the crazy courses. Like...um...history of music in film or something...maybe.

Hah, here at OSU we're on quarters (until 2012 when we switch over to semesters) so I'm only taking 15 credit hours... but it pretty much evens out, because we have three quarters for 2 semesters.
I have a friend up at BG Rollie!
