Oh yea, I'm on to you. I'm not an amtauer at these master plan schedule confidental plans, I've been introduced to the business by George, and thus explains some of the times I'm gone: And so, were back on topic!

About the only thing I didn't like about this movie was all the cursing. I can take it for so long before it starts to grate on my nerves. But I agree that the acting was superb - especially by Johnny. And I think it shows that drugs aren't the only addictive things that can ruin a life.

I'm sorry Secret Pseudonym, I'm not sure I understand what else from the movie it is that you are talking about?
Is it the destructive relationships? Greed? ...or, something entirely different?

Greed was definately one, BP. Money was very addicting. I mean, sure, George was using it to provide for his family in part...lost that thought. Bah. Notoriety. Being someone way up on the totem pole; the need to be on top. The whole fast living lifestyle. The obessesion with the next scheme, the next score, the next sale... There were just a lot of things that George got into - not all at once but a step at a time - that eventually started effecting his behavior, his relationships, etc. That's kinda the definition of an addiction, right?

Just watched Blow for the first time...wow. Johnny is awesome. I hardly noticed anyone else's performance because he just ruled supreme. I was expecting a grittier, nastier film but was pleasantly surprised by the focus on emotions. There were three parts that really cut me up: the first was when George's girlfriend tells him she's dying, the second was when the cops burst in on his birthday party and he sees them carrying his daughter away and the third was at the end when he imagines his daughter has come to visit him. I didn't expect to be so moved, it's definitely become one of my favourite Johnny films (ok...so there are a lot ) I noticed Psnoo say there was a lot of swearing...how bad is it that I didn't notice? I think watching Scarface has made me immune to a lot of bad language

Yea, I think the movie with the most curse words I've seen is the Boondock Saints...which has the f word as the every other word I'm so glad you liked the film Lynx, yea, this movie is more so focused on the emotions and difficulties George endured during his life. I heard he died recently Some of my friends (more so, guy friends) wanted to watch the movie because they thought it was jsut about some drugdealers and a bunch of sex scenes, etc. Yea, they're perverted and wierd, but once they saw it, they totally changed. I love that about this movie. Has that kind of power. Yea, the ending is heartbreaking, I hate seeing people slowly being destroyed because of something they want so much, that it almost deranges their mind, and creates hallucinations. It just kills me.

I heard he died recently Seriously? How recently is recently? Dead Or Alive seems to think he's still alive as of the 25th.

Oh, then maybe I was mis-informed, I read it on a website that he died about a month or two ago, I suppose it was just a rumor then that's a really cool site though!

I looked on the internet, but didn't find anything about him being dead, so I think he's still alive.
I just watched the movie last night, wow.. it's still one of my favorites. The ending is just so sad.
I found this quote on George's website.. I'm sure you've read it before..
"To me, he is not a number, he's not a convict, and he's not a criminal. He's a great man whose wisdom and knowledge, unfortunately, was greatly overshadowed by the choices and mistakes he made all those years ago when he hadn't even had time to brush himself off from the conditioning wrought upon him by his parents." Woo! I finally saw Blow! ;D The end was so sad... I was about to cry, until they showed his face. Then a screamed and fell off the couch. That's a really good quote! I agree... he thought he could do anything for money, and should have been taught better. He seemed like he could have been a really great guy.

He really does seem wonderful I will agree to that HF. Georgie was just trying to make a better life for himself and his child... a life where money wasn't a problem. I cannot blame him for that. He had good morals, and was so sweet. But then drugs came into the picture. And that is hard for anyone to deal with...

Aye, indeed. I don't know if you've seem Requiem for a Dream, but they show that addictions *drugs or not* take over your life completely. It's such a shame George couldn't overcome them.

That's insane that you just mentioned that Rollie I have recently watched Requiem! You are so true, he lost control in it. (Back to George)
