"A daughter should be with her father if she is not with her husband" - Cesar
Isn't that a great line?
Do you agree on this?

No, I don't agree! But yes, it's a great line I think a daughter should be as free as she wants to be. Women shouldn't have to be tied to men. So there.

Wow, strong opinion there Jay! I don't really agree with the quote myself, but it really is a great line! I like being a bit more independent, I think it's a good thing for our development.

Though taking into context the time period and the belief system at this time, yes I can then agree with it with all of the turmoil of the world.. perhaps she should be with a man... especially that she is a Russian Jew. But nowadays, no. Though I do love Cesar's line

Yes, perhaps back then it really was more like that. Especially with the nazi's and all.. Come to think of it.. The first thing the Nazi's did after arresting people was splitting up their families.

Btw.. Keeping this quote in mind. Do you think she tried to go back to Cesar after the war and after the death of her father??

Hm....do you reckon she did? I don't know, it seemed like she had to make her decision one way or the other. I think Cesar was probably killed defending his family...though, obviously, I always hope for a happy ending.

I don't know either.. I was just wondering. It did certainly seem like there was not going to be a way back, but I'd most certainly like to know what happened to the love of my life as soon as I would have the chance. So I can image she would try to find out whether he still was alive and if so, that she would try to go to him..

It was a great quote, but I also think a woman should be free as well. Aww, I hope Cesar and Suzie saw each other again after the war.
