I like how Nick of Time was one of the influencing ideas for the series 24. In case you are unaware, it was initially the intention to film the entire movie in 90 seconds (how long Gene is given) so that it was non-stop action and you were able to feel the real tension of all he had to accomplish in such little time. However, it didn't work out cinematically- a shame. However, I certainly think that the director did keep a very consistent sense of fear and anxiety running throughout the entire film. (How can you not with a bad guy like Christopher Walken? ) Roo

I agree with you Roo, I haven't seen 24 much you know but it certainly is almost the same idea's but 24 has also other stories in it and stuff and Nick of Time is about a random person from the street (wich is Gene then) has been chosen to do so and for the sake of fighting for his daughter.

Yep There are definitely some extreme differences, and would have to be in a series versus a film, but there are also some similarities that you pointed out as well I have never actually watched 24 but from what I gather the man is fighting for safety from terrorists and likewise Gene is fighting for safety of his daughter. They are very much linked, because in both situations (one random politician or several ______s ) they are concerned about their lives and thus the ones they love as well! Roo

That's interesting, I never thought about the connection between the two. I've never seen 24 either but it's always appealed to me as a concept...undoubtedly I'll get hooked one day and waste a week of my life catching up on all the series I've missed
