Of course you all have heard of the black-and-white Tim Burton flick starring Johnny Depp as a transvestite/film director named Ed Wood. Now, let's discuss. I, for one, loved the film, but I'm really busy right now, so I'll make a long post when I get some time. But you all can discuss. -DD

I get to say that this was the very first Johnny film I ever saw. And I saw it in the theater! Granted, I went because I worked at a theater at the time and got to see movies for free, so I saw them all! And a friend had told me she thought it would good, so I checked it out. I was 17 at the time. I watched it by myself. I had no idea who Ed Wood was, nor did I have any interest in horror films. I'm not exactly sure what I thought about this film when I left the theater that day. For a very sheltered young girl, that story really blew my mind. I remember thinking that it very odd, but that I did sort of like it. I really didn't know what to make of it though. Fast forward 9 years to a few months ago...and I'm now a raving Johnny fan, who barely remembers what Ed Wood was about. In my zeal for watching all of his past films, I wisely decide that it's time to re-watch this one, and see if I can figure it out this time. Well! I was giggling just at the opening credits! In case you weren't aware of it, Howard Shore did the music ( ) and it's just so campy and hilarious! Now this time around, I completely got it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially knowing Johnny better, I could truly appreciate his performance. PERFECT! ;D

I LOVE Ed Wood. I swear, it really is my favorite Johnny movie. The irony: Ed's accent sounded like my uppity ex-boyfriend [Who is, incidentally, from upstate New York as well.] who was a bit on the effeminate side.
I was ROLLING at Ed Wood. I mean, I am most definitely a purveyor of Tim Burton films... but Ed Wood is SO great. MMM. Love it.

Ed Wood is an awesome film. Hilarious. I saw this one quite recently, actually, it was simply a matter of renting it when the parents weren't home... As everyone else has already said, spotting Johnny in angora was quite possibly one of those moments where I actually fell off my seat laughing. That scene was perfect. "So that's where my sweater's been..." SJP was great too. Heck, everyone was great in that. Except, in my opinion, Patricia Arquette, whom I have seen in over 5 films and her acting skills still have yet to impress me. I particularly loved Ed's relationship with Bela Lugosi. Their friendship was heartwarming and it seemed like the only comfort to Bela, and when he died it was a real tear-jerker. Even if you knew it was coming. My favorite scene, though? The baptism. Bill Murray is a comic genius, and he proves no less in this film. "Do you reject Satan and all his teachings?" "...Sure." I cracked up. And I freaked when I saw that Vampira was played by Lisa Marie. I'm a huge Sleepy Hollow fan and I was, in all my dorkiness, calling all my friends up and shrieking "Ichabod's mom is in this movie! Ichabod's mom is in this movie!" So yeah. Awesome film. I love it.

Ok, so I was at my aunt and uncle's house a couple of days ago, and we were playing Jepordy. The category was 'director's chair' so I actually started paying attention. The question was something like "In what movie does Johnny Depp star as a film director?" (except it was more complicated then that) I don't remember it exactly. But anyway, I got my team 2,000 $ because I knew it was 'Ed Wood'. I don't know how I knew that, I haven't even seen it yet, (I plan to tho) but I think its because I've been hangin around here so much, that Ive gained a lot of Johnny knowledge. So thanx, everyone. ;D It was great that my Johnny knowledge could come in handy ;D and, I proved to my mom that all my obsessing isnt pointles. ;D Anyway, I heard this is a hilarious movie, am I right? I'm looking forward to seeing it!
