I started to watch Ed Wood today and it wasn't pretty. It might of got better but for the first.. well I don't know time but I watched a little further then when the old dracular geizer was poking himself with a needle.. and I have to say, the movie was deffintly not my favorite Johnny film. To be honest I must say the movie was boring.
Now here I am thinking about how this Johnny Depp movie was boring and I must say I am sorry Johnny Depp. I am sorry for being so unfaithful.
But please someone help me find the bright side of this black and white tale so I don't go mad, insane, daffy, and such. I need something.
Gackt, and waaah.

How could you not be captivated by that smile ? Johnny had such a time getting rid of it once filming was finished for the day.
This movie was such a part of early Hollywood how could you not love it just for the history of it?
This movie put me on a quest to find really old, silly, poorly made sci fi and horror movies, my collection has now grown to about 30 DVDs, the first of course was Plan 9 from Outer Space.

You know... I didn't get it the first time I saw it either. I pretty much left the theater (Yes, I saw it in the theater, and it was my first JD film.) like this... Yeah. Parts of it were funny (Bill Murray is always a hoot.), parts were a little disturbing (Bela and his drug addiction), parts of it just baffled me (The poor sheltered girl that I was, I did NOT know how to comprehend the cross-dressing thing), and parts were really endearing (Ed's friendship with Bela, and his struggle to make his films.). I remember liking it, but on the whole, I just couldn't process it. Watch it again, luv. See if you don't just fall in love with Ed this time. Like SS said, who could resist that smile? ;D

Maybe corny is the word that could be used to describe it, thats what it was to me, Ed did such corny movies that I think Tim wanted to have a little of what he really did in there as well. Thats why I find it so great.

When I first saw "Ed Wood" I was already obsessed with Johnny, so I really didn't have any questions about whether he was a good actor or not. My uncle told me to watch it, so I did. I thought it was sweet that Ed got to meet his favorite actor, and got to really know Bella too. It was cool that they got to be friends and stuff, and Ed kindof guided him to getting some help for his addiction problem. All I could think about when I found saw Ed crossdressing was "Johnny has a really nice waistline..." tee hee hee... But I just really love the movie...it made me see a whole other side to Ed, and if I hadn't seen that movie and someone had told me about real-life Edward D. Wood, I would've had a whole other feeling towards him.

The first time I watched it I was confused as well. Don't worry, the more you watch it, the more the events of the film seem meaningful and important to you, and the more you watch it the more beauty you begin to see in the actual film.

I'm a bit sad too, because it was so Tim and Johnny-ish! There's no other film like it, and they created the atmosphere of the time period so well, with humor. I do agree that it wasn't as entertaining as expectations... but nonetheless, I would die not having it in my collection. ;D

Johnny I thought did a great job and the film I thought was funny. when Vampira thought he was gay! I laughed so hard I was going to cry. And when he came out in the pink angora sweater and told his girlfriend the look on her face was priceless! #rotfl# I never laughed so hard since Bon Bon in Before Night Falls when he was shaking his butt! #rotfl#
