I have small question Roo.
Isn't there an imaginary fish he sees? I haven't seen the movie in a while, but If I remember right..I think there was... I don't get the connection at all...

Yep HoHo... he does see imaginary fish Now... it's kind of suspension of belief in that area... they want you to believe it's part of his dream... for that fish ((halibut)) is always in his dreams of Alaska.... ((Did that clear anything up at all?... If not I can always go into more detail ))

Did you notice the Chocolat type music playing in the background to the turtle on the table scene? Or am I just making that up?

I've always wondered if she named her gaggle of turtles... they were important to her, so I would imagine that she did... however there was never any mention of names....

Maybe she didn't think turtles had names, or maybe she prefered to keep them a secret because clearly no one else shared her passion.

Yes, perhaps that's the reason. *good thinking Lynx* Did anyone else love how Paul kept going off reciting from films?

hahahah, yeah! And I loved it when Elaine was chasing him in her new plane and it was like he was having to relive that scene...hahahaha...made me laugh!
Paul seemed to get really carried away too, like when he was in the middle of reciting a scene he was unable to think about anything else. Did you think that too?

Did you notice the Chocolat type music playing in the background to the turtle on the table scene? Or am I just making that up? I noticed! Love that Minor Swing!! Too cool. I have a new question!! Do you think Grace was really going to shoot? It seemed to me that the lightning made her jump, and therefore pull the trigger. If the lightning hadn't been so close, would she still have done it?

I hadn't actually thought about the lightening much before you mentionned it actually...you could be right.
But I think she was going to shoot because she said "I wish I could take you with me" to Axel in the bedroom. And she didn't make a scene about leaving the house (like she did when she attempted to hang herself), it was only chance that Axel spotted her out of the window.
That's what I think anyway ;D

I think that she did it on purpose... because she was always thinking about suicide... and wasn't scared about dying... and she hated her mother and wanted to escape that... I think she would have done it no matter what.... But! That's just my opinion Many ways to interpret it.

Ok, what does the fish actually symbolise? Is there a fixed meaning to it? Or is it just left up to you to decide? I was just thinking that it appears every time the flying machine breaks...is that symbolic?
