Why do you think Grace was obsessed with suicide?
The first time I watched the film I must admit I didn't think Grace really killed herself... I thought she was just staging it to get attention from her mother.
Nothing she did ever phased her "mother" But in real as the movie told us Faye wasn't even her mother...

Well, I don't think Grace was all that well and that had a lot to do with it. But I also believe that she was lonely, and wanted attention. I think Grace always knew she would end her life, perhaps because of things we will never know. In the end I don't think she killed herself because of Elaine, I think it was more to just leave everything behind.

Yes that is very true, she must have endured some horrendous things (her step mother killing her father couldn't have been pretty)
I wonder what he was like... and if they were close.... and if she liked Elaine before she killed her father...
Maybe she wanted to die to meet him again in heaven?

Grace was just to begin with I think. Probably drove her dad insane thus causing Elaine to kill him.... Although I can't help but feel sorry for her...Axel pays oh so much more attention to her "mother" than her... I do think her obsession with turtles is rather intriguing! I want a turtle now even though reptiles themselves just kind creep me out-not scare me, but just touching their scales freaks me out

Thanks very much for your input Sugarbutt I think Grace was just a lonely insecure girl without grounding that was looking for attention from anywhere she could find it. And she truly loved Axel. "I love you"

OK if the man she loved, loved her back and wanted to be with her...WHY would she commit suicide?! Poor Axel!!! I think her craziness had a lot to do with it...but in some parts she seemed perfectly sane. I was so upset when she killed herself. She had her whole life (WITH AXEL!) to look forward to and she just...left.

No kidding how could you give up that? But I'm sure insanity is much like depression... unpredictable and hits strong at certain times... But no kidding. I still love Grace She was all in all sweet. Cult films....
