OK folks time to start something new . Tell us everything & anything you like, do not like about costumes in FN. Does anyone know anything about origins of Indian headresses? Do certain tribes have certain headresses? Does the headress appertain to statue within the tribe? etc etc

I really like Mary's dress, the one in the beginning, it was pretty and shiny and I would love to own a dress like that one.

Certainly those clothes are a long way from the trousers & jeans we seem to wear a lot today. They look so lovely & I am sure we would all love the occasion to wear one from time to time but could you imagine wearing them, & corsets everyday!! So restrictive! Love the fabrics though .

Hats, headresses & costumes, oh my! Personally, I like corsets... gotta be a pirate thing. I also love the old-fashioned long dresses! Very elegant. Sadly I don't know much about headresses, except Johnny looks very sexy in them! Hehe! ;D

Quick to google! Actually if we look up about headresses we may become more confused then we are now. But yes he did look mighty good in a headress. Prolly is a pirate thing. the corset thing I mean.

I really wish people still dressed like they did back then..I wish it was still normal...and they still sold that clothse in stores regularly. I Mean..it's changed so much from back then. Cold you even imagine what a girl brought to the future from back then would think of the way women dress now. It's crazy really.

They'd probably wonder why women wore men's pants then if it was summer they'd be appalled that our ankles were showing.

Some how I do regret the often lack of elegance today especially when some girls seem to look too much like men. Think the advantage is today we have the freedom to wear what we feel like wearing & don't have to look too "prissy" if we don't want to. I adore fashion & clothes (which Rev sometimes shares with me!), I love that some days I can wear jeans & an old T & others I can wear something more elegant when the fancy talkes me...even if I am only bathing the dogs!

I am really keen to find out as much as possible about headresses & also about Native American Indians...after all Johnny has some ancestry there too. I have found an article, rather academic but interesting so here is a link. Over time I shall try to find oput more about headress in particular. So far the little I have learnt is that certain thnigs in headresses symbolise different things. I am assuming that staus is also involved but look forward to any comments from you all.http://emayzine.com/lectures/native%20americans..intro.html
