Rollie gave me an idea for which I thank her. JMB was very childlike in many ways & I wonder 2 things: what do you think are the advantages/disadvantegs for someone in this category & 2. Who else in the public eye do you put in this category. I shall start by saying Robin Williams seems to afll into this category in his manner although difficult to say what he may be like in private. I suspect that living with someone who has such a fun loving nature may not be easy. Or is that because they are creative? And are those 2 things linked?

Hm I'd say there might be some disadvantages after some time living with a person who constantly acts in a childish manner at first it'd probably be fun but then when the excitment wears off it just becoems annoying and you'd probably wish they'd just grow up and act their rightful age.
As for a person like that....President Bush. Maybe not for the creativity though he does make up interesting words but he does seem to have a very childish view of things and is incredibly immarture....then again that's different then childish as well...

I would say definitely Jim Carrey and Mike Myers. They're just kids at heart... And so is Cameron Diaz. They just love gross humor, don't they?

They are pretty funny and childish aren't they. Most comedians are.

Glad I gave you inspiration Whimsey! Hmm, advantages and disadvantages... I'd say that an advantage is that you'd have someone who can make you laugh and would understand our more sensitive side. A disadvantage is that you need someone to be serious sometimes under more serious circumstances. In my opinion though, although JM was childish and imaginitive, he still knew when to be serious *when Sylvia was sick, when confronting Mart, etc* I think Johnny himself is a lot like JM Barrie. The boy who neevr grew up.

Advantages: Someone who sees the world with a child's eyes always sees wonder in everything. They have amazing imaginations. They are often honest too (which could be considered a disadvantage ) Disadvantages: They are often happiest in their own world, and no one else can enter. It can be extremely infuriating when something needs to be done, and in social situations, when the person just won't grow up. As much as I love Finding Neverland, I know how annoying it is to be with someone who acts like a child when they're not. Sometimes is fine, but all the time is maddening.

Glad this topic is interesting & sorry for my late arrival, my posts will be sporadic until September due to house move, visitors & the arrival of a new furry friend!!! I certainly agree that Johnny seems to have managed to retain some childlike qualities (apart from his looks) a sort of slightly self conscious sometimes incredulous air & all the other endearing characteristics of childhood.

i have a friend (a male ) who is SO child like and some times its annoying but when I'm not feeling too good he can always make me smile so hes good in that respect but some people see him as an idiot because of the way he acts so i suppose that could be a disadvantage
and the first person i thought of in the public eye was Jim carry too hes just so funny hehe he can also always make me laugh
