Any of you become addicted to this new Fox show yet? I wasn't sure I was going to watch it or not from the ads because it looked stupid. I mean, the entire show is about breaking out of prison. How good could it be? But I decided to give it a try and WHOA. Awesome show!
At it's core is an inmate named Scofield. Now his backstory is that his brother was arrested and convicted for murdering the Vice President's brother and is sentenced to be executed. Now this brother has always claimed his innocence but no one believes him--save his younger brother Scofield, who by some random quirk of fate is some sort of architect genius who happened to design the prison his brother is imprisoned at. Well lil brother's not going to let big brother be executed for a crime he didn't commit so he comes up with a plan to break out of the prison from the inside. He goes and robs a bank and gets himself put in prison with his brother.
The show goes on from there, working a bit like 24 as each episode is days, hours, minutes after the last. Some of the cool things about the show is that Scofield seems to be a bit of a sociopath himself. He's a very "cold fish," and you gotta wonder what's going on in his head. Also, he's tattooed the blueprints of the prison on himself from head to toe disgused to look like just a really intricate tat. It's very nifty to see. Other nifty things--there seems to be a huge X-Filesian conspiracy going on with the murder of the VP's brother and people in High Places are thwarting Scofield's every move, even going to such lengths as to blackmail the warden to get him to transfer Scofield out of the prison.
In short, it's a really intriguing show that I highly recommend catching at least once. It's on Monday nights on Fox at 9.

PS. It's also something to help keep you until House on Tuesday.
