This is the place where we talk about anything and everything related to the movie Benny and Joon. We can talk about the making of the film, ask questions, clarify things, talk philosophy, whatever you want, as long as it has to do with B&J. Remember...always follow the TOS...and have fun! ;D

I think one of the funniest scenes was when Sam thanked Benny for letting him sleep on the couch. Benny's face after learning that his friend made him sleep under the sink was pretty priceless.

If I mention all of the funny scenes in this movie, or scenes that I love, the only one I'd leave out would be Benny being a brat to Sam in the hospital. But I love how persistant Sam is, keeps saying "no." I love how he won't take anything else for an answer.
I'm simply in love with the wonderful character that is Sam. But my fingers do have a limit for how much they can obsess, so I'm just going to leave an example of my love for now.
Sometimes when telemarketers call, I like to play little tricks on them. Today, one called, introduced herself as Marleen Greenburg. So I gasp and say "Oh my god. It's you! Marleen Greenburg!" She said 'what?' so I go, in a very dramatic voice: "He was mine. He was MINE!" and continued with Sam's monologue from the diner. (Yes I know it's from Ruthie's movie, Merrie.) Once I was done, Marlene paused and then said "So...are you interested?" I sounded bewhildered when I replied wtih a strong, resounding "you're sick, you need help." before hanging up.
Oh, what a fun movie!

HA! I'll have to put that on my list of things to try, right under that bit about the grilled cheese. Does anyone else love the music in this movie? I may be a little biased, being a fan of Rachel Portman (the composer), but I think the music fits the movie very well, and it's really fun to listen to.

Love the music! B & J is the next soundtrack on my list to buy...well ROTK may bump it down, but it's up there now! I have the Chocolat soundtrack and I am now becoming a big Rachel Portman fan.

The music all sounded the same to me, except with different tempos and other minor changes. I couldn't tell them apart, not really. But I do agree that they did fit the movie very well.
And Danger, yes I really did that. It's so fun to mess with them. I imagine Johnny got some telemarketer harassment in his pre-film days as well.

Actually Johnny was a telemarketer in his pre-film days, but I'll not get into that - otherwise RA might wack me with a tennis racket.
I asked my mom if that grilled cheese bit would actually work, but the look she gave me kind of made me stop there. OKay, so I'll try it when she isn't home.

Sams little smirky smile as he said this was even better. Even though you don't get to see it for more than second.
