Finally saw a few Keaton films! ;D The General ((hysterical)) The Playhouse ((on the floor laughing)) Cops.... ((good but not as great as the others)) I haven't seen the last two. I'll have to check them out! The General was a great one. I'd also recommend Steamboat Bill Jr. ;D

Well... let's see. We'll go in order of what I watched... 1. Behind the Screen (Chaplin) before I was really interested, thought it was really silly. 2. Steamboat Bill Jr. (Keaton) 1st one after I bought a set of DVDs. I thought the stunts were amazing, and there were some moments that were pretty funny. 3. The General (Keaton) Much funnier than SBJ, lots of amazing stunts too. Busters 'great stone face' starting to crack me up. 4. Tillie's Punctured Romance (Chaplin) Didn't like the style of it at all. Hard to watch, hard to follow, Charlie wasn't in his little tramp character, and I really didn't like it. At this point, I liked Keaton much better. 5. The Kid (Chaplin) This one floored me. Charlie's tramp character was so loveable, and it was so funny, yet it even made me cry in one part. I absolutely fell in love with Charlie then and went after all his movies. 6-? I've seen tons more Charlie movies, I now own 7 of them, and I really haven't seen any more Keaton stuff since I went cuckoo. So there you go. I started out liking Keaton, but really fell in love with Chaplin. If you go back and read this thread, you'll see that pretty clearly.

Oh..I love Charlie Chaplin..I've done many school projects and essays on him. Also at Disneyland in the Penny Arcade there are many Nickelodeans that you can watch his little spoofs in for a Penny. They are very fun..Next time anyone goes to Disneyland I suggest you go see them. They are very interesting.

It has been about a month since Nutty discovered silent silms in all their splendor. And since then, she's become addicted. I watch Chaplin's classic two reels more than Johnny's movies! Who doesn't love the Tramp? He's too charming, too funny, and too cute (teehee) to be disliked. Charlie is a master of the silent screen, and I love his ingenious combination of comedy and drama (as seen in the Kid and what-not.) But then Buster Keaton tumbles in! That man must have been among the very first physical comedians of cinema, which is saying a lot when you think of all the stuntmen nowadays. And that stoic expression only adds to his charm. Hilarious. The Great Dictator, The Kid, The Vagabond, By The Sea, The Pawnshop, and A Night in The Show are my current favorites from Chaplin. And Keaton's Daydreams, The General, Electric House, My Wife's Relations, and The Playhouse are my favorites for "The Great Stone Face." Isn't silent cinema super?!
