To be honest, the only thing Disney need to make another one is Johnny's agreement and we all know how much he loves Jack. That's true. I mean any articles I read about a possible fourth movie always has a quote from Johnny saying how he doesn't want to leave Jack and he'd love to reprise the role. The only thing that could stop them making it was if the same people behind the scenes didn't want to come back. Because Johnny said that only if the story was good and there were good people behind it he'd do it. And we all know Johnny's never been big on trying to make a big blockbuster movie. If only one person saw it he'd be happy so I don't think he cares about any franchises or anything. Besides, he was really the biggest force behind building it. He owns a piece of it.

I'll play devil's advocate and vote YES! Maybe it's just me being selfish, but I don't think I'll ever get enough of Jack. I've heard rumors that if things go well they can begin filming in August, but Orlando and Keira and possibly Gore will not be returning. Hey, as long as we got Johnny, Ted, and Terry, I'm set!

HF!! *glomps* Erm, Ted and Terry is good. No Gore could be bad... I still dunno.

August?! Woah, that's so much sooner than I would have expected! I thought they'd at least take a year off before attempting a fourth film.
And no Gore! Hmm...that could be bad. Totally understandable though, what a committment these films have been! Not at all surprised about Orlando and Keira. I would have been very surprised if they'd signed up to do any more.
I'm definitely still leaning towards the yes vote though.

I am going to have to agree with HF I would really like to see another POTC 4 or maybe 5 I do agree that for the most part Will and Elizabeth's story is over and it would hurt the movie if they tried to continue on with it any more then they have. But Jack's story could easily be continued..and if Will and Elizabeth were droped that could make for some interesting new characters to pop up which could make the plot line pretty interesting I think. I think as long as Disney keeps away from making another POTC which is only home based and never touches a real movie screen then it should be fine. Most times when Disney screws up on things is when they continue the story through a home movie and not a major on...like how they are doing with Cinderealla (I actually meet a kid this last weekend that said she has seen all the Cinderella movies except the actual first one!) I don't really thats true for all the Disney movies I saw The Little Mermaid 2 and really liked it! its just very risky and Disney has been doing that risk for a longg time now. But yes I would like to see another Pirates...I think Johnny would love to play Jack again...and I think the end of this movie gave a great opening to another movie being made..just as long as it focuses more on Jack and not Will and Elizabeth...I don't remember who said it on the first page but some mentioned doing a prequal of Jack in a movie..I think it would be interesting if the combined that into plot of a fourth if they did end up doing it.

I'm still not sure but I do kind of agree with the 'yes' voters. I'd love to see more adventures of Captain Jack and meet new characters. I am concerned the people might get tired of 'Pirates' and after a while, sequels turn bad.. and I mean really bad. One or two sequels can be good but then the writers end up making up some terrible story because they've run out of good ones...

Well, don't me wrong here... if they do make anything else related to this franchise, I'm going to see it.
But... I fear for the intergrity of the original trilogy if they continue on with sequels or prequels. It do have faith in Ted and Terry, I love Ted and Terry, but how many writers have made a success of 4 in a row?
I'm not saying it can't happen, it's just not likely to measure up, and that would be bad.

Mmm, you make a good point. You can be a brilliant writer and still not be able to deliver the goods consistently. Ted and Terry, as wonderful as they are, may only be able to ride the wave for so long. And it would be soooo horrible if the fourth film fell flat. Even Jack Sparrow can't save the situation if there's bad writing involved.

I voted NO I liked the way they finished it off, the story has been told. Maybe an off shoot of some part of the story (big scope there) I would pay for a ticket and watch a pirates 247 if they keep making them but I really think it would spoil what has already been brilliant. ~SS~

I've been talking to a bunch of people at school and they've all said thay want another movie or two.. so maybe the fans won't be tired of more Pirates? But I'm still on the fence about more...

Lol, I'm not tired of pirates! Perish the thought! I'm just worried that if they make any more, they won't measure up. I'll see it even if it's crap, mind you.

I'm hoping wishing pleading for maybe a prequel? Can't you guys see it, a fresh, young, cocky pirate, Jack Sparrow, climbing his way to being Captain of the Black Pearl? Yummm.

Hehe, HF, have you not heard the stories? There's this backstory floating around the internet that Jack used to be a merchant sailor for the EITC and his ship was the Wicked Wench (which I believe is the ship in the ride). When Beckett had sent him to transport slaves, he pretty well didn't. (And Psnoo and I think that's who all the people in the swamp by Tia Dalma's place are.) Then Beckett hunted him down and sunk the Wench and likely left Jack to die at sea. That's when he made his deal with Davy Jones- to raise his ship, which he renamed The Black Pearl, and make him captain for 13 years. Seriously, you never heard that?
