Hi,
This is the place to talk about Stphen Sodheim, his music and the stage production. Without him I believe this musical wouldn't be anything. What do you all think? He has a very succuessful career. I will try to give links to his career Soon! Also his thoughts on the musical.

So last night I saw Sweeney Todd, the actual stage version at CY Stephens. I have to say it was pretty smeeping amazing. Here is my review-ish type thingamajig of the characters/actors playing them.
Carrie Cimma (Mrs Lovett) -- Okay first off, she was HOT!..I sound totally bi, but it is true. and she was a great Mrs. Lovett, just some of the little things that she did made her amazing. like during 'A Little Priest' when she played off the audience's laughter after it goes "Do you have general?" "With or without his privates?" *huge outbreak of audience laughter* "With his extra?" and then Merrit (Sweeney) started cracking up and had to compose himself. Oh yeah, and it has to take a lot of talent to be able to sing while bending over backwards.
Merritt David Janes (Sweeney Todd) -- Okay first off I love the way that during The Ballad of Sweeney Todd, he comes up from the casket thingermajig. He made a really good sweeney, and again it was some of the little things he did. oh and when he went to kill Judge Turpin, he was shaking the sheet thing out and it got stuck, it was kind of funny ish. I dont know if everyone noticed it though.
Matt Cusack (Jonas Fogg) -- Okay first off, I have to say I loved his red curly hair haha, it was so cute <3. Anyways, he did a great job as an asylum owner...and well he seemed a little crazy himself. Like the main asylum part when they're in there to get Johanna back, Im sure he was meant to sound this was and it was probably sound effects, but I love how demented he sounded when he talked.
Chris Marchant (Tobias) -- Okay, he did a superb performance as a little boy turned into somewhat of a pyschopath (it is very different from the movie ladies and gentlemen) I loved the whole 'Pattycake' thing that he did before he killed Sweeney..and then they put him in a straight Jacket. ..Oh and the fact that he played the Violin in it was amazing..I 'kiss the feet at your ground!'
David Alan Marshall (Judge Turpin) -- Okay for some reason he reminds me of the main teacher in Legally Blonde, the one who chooses a couple of his students to work with him on a case. That was all I could think about when he put his glasses on. But anyways, he did great as the judge, though he could have been a bit more..smeephead-ish.
Patty Lohr (Beggar Woman) -- She made a great Beggar Woman, and the whole 'Howd you like a little muff dear, a little jig jig, a little bounce around the bush...' part I love how she was during it, and then there was another part she was sitting up on the ladder bouncing up and down.
Bob Bohon (The Beadle) -- So you don't really see as much of the Beadle as you do in the movie, but he sounded very similar to the movie beadle. and He was fantastical. <3
Duke Anderson (Anthony) -- Well first off Kara kisses the feet at his ground, because he could play cello while standing up and singing. He had a great voice, and yeah..pretty much rocked it up as Anthony.
Wendy Muir (Johanna) -- I loved her, seriously. Like I love how when they were rescuing her from the asylum she took serious control when Anthony was like "i cant shoot him" and she stood up and shot him. and her voice, especially during 'Green Finch and Yellow Linnet Bird' was amazing.
Ruthie Ann Miles (Pirelli) -- So Kara and I were discussing how it was probably really hard to find a boy to play Pirelli so they got a girl instead. Anyways, she made a good Pirelli. <3
