Oh my crap...a week?!?! That man is truly gifted ro something. He's all kinds of wonderful. Of course, so is Johnny. But Johnny didn't write a script in a week, not to mention do everything else about the movie too, except act in it. Johnny just starred in one of my favorite movie characters of all time. -gypsy

Holy crap, are you joking?? A week?? That's insane!! *bemoans the fact that I can't even write a decent fanfic in a week let alone a movie script* Imagine what it would have been like if he had spent more time on it? Of course, hmm, he could have overthought a few things, and it would have lost some of it's raw humor...but anyway, go R.R!!! You rock!!

I really liked what he said about his first thought were of a man without eyes, a man without a face and a man without a name. One of the first images he sketched for the film was a guy with blood running down his face from behind sunglasses. Toooo cool! I truly can't wait to see what Rodriguez comes up with next!

Yeah Robert Rodriguez is quite the visionary! A week, that's insane. I, like Merrie, cannot even write a decent fanfic in a week! Sheesh!

Want to know what else is insane about R.R? Remember the credits? He literally did everything in that movie. He wrote the script, shot the movie, wrote the music score, along with Johnny's excellent contribution, of course, , and did the editing as well. That's just...insane!! Does anyone know how long it took OUATIM to shoot? I know Johnny's scenes were finished in a really short time, like days, but what about the rest of the movie? I wonder when R.R. had time to sleep?!

Yep, he's a hard worker. I'm pretty sure they were filming digitally--not with actual film. This makes for faster shoots in general, but yeah. This guy does all his work and does it fast. I'm not sure how long it actually took to film it, though. Johnny was there for what, 3 weeks?

Yeah, they did film it digitally, and the movie is all the better for it in my honest opinion. As for how long Johnny was on set?? I'm not entirely sure, but I know it was short. He actually asked R.R. if there was anything else he could do. Any other part he could play. R.R. said sure and gave him the part of the priest that El talks to before the shootout in the church. "Who was the name of your confessor?" "Sands." Indeed. Man, I love this movie.

these are the only behind the scenes pics i have of OUATIM www.photobucket.com/albums/0903/koreanpirate/ebccfcea.jpgwww.photobucket.com/albums/0903/koreanpirate/b86cfff9.jpghahahahha all the bloopers in OUATIM had to do with Agent Sands Goofs for Once Upon a Time in Mexico Continuity: The dried streams of blood from Sands's empty eye sockets change position between shots. Revealing mistakes: After the riot during The Day of The Dead, a small boy approaches Agent Sands and we catch a glimpse of Sands' eyes behind his glasses, even though he had them both removed earlier in the movie. Revealing mistakes: When Agent Sands is checking Belini's body for the information he needs, Belini's "corpse" is breathing. Crew or equipment visible: At the bullfight, a cameraman is reflected in Sands' sunglasses. Continuity: When Sands first meets the bubblegum-selling boy, the shots of the boy have been flipped - the writing on the pack is backwards. Continuity: When Agent Sands is being tailed by the cartel hit-man, you can see the small pistol in his hand before he pulls it out of his trousers.

Hey, I think that's the original "El" in the second shot with Johnny! Also, Robert Rodriguez looks so much like my brother it's scary! Great pics, HF. Thanks!

Woo, hot picture. I especially love the little flaggies and such hanging above him. Really great shot. But where's Sands?! I'm so excited for this dvd. I seriously can't wait. And hey, maybe I'm going to feel a little generous and decide to buy myself Desperado as well. Maybe even El Mariachi. smeepit, I really should have broken up with Elias when I was borrowing his dvd. Then he'd bee to heartbroken to talk to me and I wouldn't have to give it back. Ah well, I could use a guy like him out of my life anyways. This just gives me motivation to save money. Hear that, SJ? El? You've inspired me, guys. I'm going to start saving money! *makes a big deal out of it* I love the little tidbits someone linked previously about OUATIM, how Carolina's shoes still don't match, the red candles, the backwards gum, that old butch lady at the coup and lots of other random stuff. I really liked them, made me laugh. -gyps

As much as I hate to double-post, I just had to stick this in. There are only so many suggestive phrases one can make up. But Robert sounded like such a FUN guy to work with. I really want to be in one of his movies. REALLY. -gyps CC's edit: Sorry, just popped in to fix your pic link. All better!
