Did any one hear that Johnny got the idea for Sands from this book?? He also happened to recommend it in a magazine a while back. Its about a CIA agent whos into s*x,drugs and of course rock n roll! Pretty good book i am reading it at the moment and can tell you Sands is only loosely based Johnny did all the hard work as he always does!

I love this book. It's an absolute hoot. ;D The C.R.A.F.T. club... Finnegan's Wake... the parrot... Not I thought there was quite a bit of Switters in Sands. The whole last name thing, the love of show tunes, the suits. I thought the a lot of the mannerisms were similar too. Granted, I know Sands is all Johnny, but I bet Switters is a good sized influence, whether intentionally or otherwise.

Switters is very similar to Sands ive read quite a bit more from when i posted on it last and your right! The suits the sarcasm etc only thing not the same seems to be story and physical apperance.

I love this book ! I think I brought it up in one of the threads a while back, and I thought maybe Sands was influenced a wee bit by Sands, but not a whole lot.

Or Sands by Switters as the case may be. I could very well be looking too far into some possible similarities. Always open to suggestions.

*Adds book to shopping list* Hey does anyone by chance know the author? If the character has any semblance to Sands' personality, I'm all game! ;D

Tom Robbins. Tom Robbins is a rocking author, very highly recommended. Still Life With Woodpecker and Half Asleep In Frog Pajamas are good reads too. It's amusing, picking all the stuff you suspect Johnny incorporated into Sands.
