I love Johnny's irish accent. It's really gentle...not full blown Irish (which can be a little hard to take at first ;D). I don't know how I speak... I guess it's a mix of Queen's English and everything else I come across. ;D It certainly would be great to hear how everyone speaks. I love accents, I find them fascinating. Unfortunately whenever I'm speaking to someone with a strong accent I always end up putting that accent on even when I don't mean to ;D. I loved this film so very much...it's a really good feel good movie. One to watch when you want some comforting. In fact, I haven't seen it for a while...oh, I'm seeing it tomorrow (my sister and I are having a Johnny Depp day...yay!) so all is well.

I know what you mean about assuming other people's accents. It happens to me, too. I live in Texas, and I like to think that I don't have that kind of accent, but sometimes it does come out.

Yes I think depending on the people your with you adopt different accents. For example when I was younger I went to a Birmingham nursery and people from this area have really strong accents and apparently I spoke like it solidly until I was moved to a different one! Also it depends who you are talking to if I am talking to friends I don’t really care how I speak but if I am talking to strangers, teachers or family I pronounce everything a lot better and take care with what I am saying.

I love the texas accent, CC! Yeah, I know what you mean Rev, it's all about the people you're with. My mum's a stickler for correct grammar (very useful for a writer like me ) so I speak properly anyway but with friends it does sort of...slip. ;D

If you think that's bad, I know a couple who speak with a mixed Canadian/Georgian accent. Caught the last bit of Chocolat on A&E today. Roux is melt in your mouth and not in your hand goodness. Or at least that accent is.

Just so long as nobody names their poor child Victor we'll be in the clear. There's a kid at my school with that name in band and boy does he get some flack for it.

Hmm, why's that? My cousin's name is Victor and thats the only thing I adore about him :shh: because of Victor Van Dort from Corpse Bride
