Wow. Let us know if the real Fred matches the "From Hell" interpretation. Was he really addicted to opium?

I once watched an A&E special on Jack The Ripper, and they said how the only thing preventing them from actually naming the Ripper was fingerprints. None were found and they might not have been able to pick them up back then - not sure. Does this book go along those same lines, hinting at who the suspect was?

I just finished reading this book, and it was absolutely intriguing!!! The book flat out "solves" the Jack the Ripper case, using modern forensic technology examine the evidence that still remains after all this time, and goes so far as to reveal who the real Jack the Ripper "was." After reading it, and reading the author's case against her suspect, I have to say, I believe it. It's a very well-written book, and you can tell that the author certainly put a lot of time into researching it. Unfortunately, for those of us with a more Johnny-centered POV, it doesn't talk much about Inspector Frederich Abberline or the "royal conspiracy" theory that the movie went with, although both are mentioned. There simply isn't very much information on the real Abberline available, most of his case documents and journals have been lost or destroyed. But this is a facinating story on Jack the Ripper and the effects and symptoms of psychopathy, that I thouroughly enjoyed. It get's the Fiend's two tumbs up. -The Fiend

This sounds pretty cool I'll have to check it out. I got into the science of invesgating The Jack The Ripper Cases ever since I saw From Hell. It would be interesting if the movies idea really was ture though.

Just the other day I picked up a book called Murder at Whitechapel by Robin Paige about Jack the Ripper. At the very beginning there is a cast of characters, in which our favorite Inspector is included. I haven't gotten far enough into the book yet, haven't even come across Fred yet, but I'll try and keep you all posted to see if it resembles the movie. As for that other book, that sounds really interesting. I'll have to read it after this one. Ever since I saw this movie I've become obsessed with researching Jack the Ripper. -Ciao!

I'm not sure what the book was called but it showed some real photos of Jack the Rippers victims especially the last one , and it made me want to throw up.
