They've been talking about making a remake aswell. I hope they don't, it'll mess with the original

Matthew Bourne is developing Edward Scissorhands into a ballet to debut this year. Here is an excerpt from an article in which he talks about it(from villagevoice.com): "I put the idea to do [Scissorhands] onstage to [composer] Danny Elfman first," Bourne continues, "and then to Tim. I was quite open-minded toward a musical, but they wanted it like the other pieces. They were excited by the prospect of non-verbal theater. It came from them, really. We've written the scenario for this version. It's quite different from the 1990 film. Danny's written some more music and it's starting to be designed. We hope to go into rehearsal by September. We're quite far down the road." To read the entire article, go to: www.villagevoice.com/dance/0510,phillips,61829,14.html

Yeah, it probably will be... I guess I'd like to see it if I could. The story is good and I'd like to see what everything looks like and how they perform it..

Well, it's going to be a ballet, which includind the non-verbal theater aspect is a wonderful artform and having been a dancer myself I can't tell you how exciting it will be for the Dancers to perform this story.. It won't be the same as watching Johnny's potrayel of course, although the dancer will be instructed to um..mimick him in the movie, in order to stay true to character. But sounds good to those of us who don't think it's any infringement on the movie's credability ( and trust me there are fans completely in opposition to this..lol) PSSST..maybe Johnny'll show on opening night or something..I'd like to know if he's givn his blessings, like.

They're making a ballet out of this? How awkward would that look? I can see regular stage play but ballet?!?!

Heheh..I dunno I kind of find that funny. Seeing edward a man with huge scissors on his hands doing ballet. I imagine someone would get hurt.
