Eh, I think he just didn't know how to end it after Dean...erm..."found" the mysterious girl.

It didn't work. It wasn't an ending. They could have ended it fine before that crazy sheit, they could have expanded after the ending they made, but this way there is no real resolution. It was...kindof dumb and out of place, that's just what I thought personally.

Wow! Very opinionated aren't you? I agree though, it really wasn't much of an ending. Instead of leaving you wondering what happens to Dean (ok, it did a little), it was more like WTH?!

I didn't like the ending, but I thought it made a bit of sense...I guess Corso accomplished what Balkan couldn't, which was to reach the Ninth Gate. Perhaps Corso walked through the gates of Hell in the last scene? Or is that already assumed by you guys...?
I just wouldn't have preferred that kind of sticky end for Corso, but eh. What can you do.

That is the question!

Indeed. Well, I guess all we can suppose is that she was an agent for LCF. That what it said in most of the summaries, so I'm supposing that's the truth, but hey, I guess we'll never know.

Well, no one can "become" the Devil. People could probably be possessed, but not become the entity. I think he just ended up being seduced to the dark side, so to speak.

Yes, I think so too. Dean sort of had a chance at immortality, and I think he seized it without question. The only thing that got me was he says "You killed for those [the engravings]. They're worth more than money." So does Dean have compassion for those who were murdered, or not? I thought at first he was only in it to solve the mystery and sort of avenge the people who were killed, but I guess it turns out he was in it for himself the whole time. As Balkan says, he developed the same obesssion with the Ninth Gate and achieving power, even if it was evil.

Well if you think about it, Corso's not exactly the compassionate hero type. I think his lust for money is what made him such an easy target.

Ah, I get what your saying. So Dean just took the "chance for imortality" rather than his regular life. He was the money craving, almost...selfish? type so I dont think it was hard for him to do so.

Instead of leaving you wondering what happens to Dean (ok, it did a little), it was more like WTH?! WTH!! *laughs* I'm sorry. And every time they said things like, "I'll be d@**ed." I was like, "Yes, you will be." ;D Anyway --> the ending. Yes, it confused me a great deal. I think what was running through my head was, "Crap. Waste of a great pair of glasses and a grey streak. What the heck?" That's what I thought.
