I thought the ending was very confusing, but hey, it's a Polanski movie. If it wasn't confusing we'd be confused. hehe

Good theory. I don't really think theirs an ending, the ending is he walks into the door, and you get built up in anticipation. That way, the movie will be talked about for a while at least, I love movies like that. Maybe there is more than one ending? I don't know, I'm just blabbing on now

One of the drawings was a forgery, (by the twins in Portugal) so the mumbo jumbo Baulkin did, couldn't work. Dean went back to Portugal, where the last (original) drawing found him as it fell off the dusty cupboard. Mr Corso then went back to the castle to meet you know who

This is one of my favourite films & I think you notice more & get more from each viewing (probably because I am too busy swooning at Johnny I no doubt miss loads)! I think the ending is enigmatic & typical Polanski, perhaps even so he could do a sequel if he wanted. I understand it is taken from a book, has anyone read the book? I read somewhere that Johnny didn't get on with Polanski & then somewhere else that he did, anyone know the truth of that? Poetic really that this film was the beginning of Johnny's new life with Vanessa so guess it opened his 9th gate

It was weird. I loved the movie but to be honest I was left wanting at the end.....which was most likely the director's intention! He was smeep cute in that black robe though!!
