No they never once say what Momma did for a living if anything.....
I guess it's up to us to decide.
She seemed so productive before her husband's death, I would imagine she did something....
But that would be my idea.
LOL.... yeah, having medical issues myself, I know they are costly.... poor Arnie, at least he doesn't know enough to know how much a stressor that could have been on his family, or it would have broken his heart....
"Ignorance is bliss" ....although I don't see him as ignorant... just unable to grasp that.

Alright, I don't know if this is going to come out right, but: I definitely agree with that statement. People like Arnie (and my Uncle) are ignorant to the evil that goes on around them. They don't see the bad in people and they are almost completely incapable of being mean. Sometimes I wish everyone was ignorant about that....the world would certainly be a much nicer/better place.

That definitely would make a lovely world setting, think of all the evils that wouldn't exist... there would be no need for fear. That's a great point Sunny. But in a way it's also very sad....

I agree with both of you. It's such a shame that people who are completely healthy promote the bad in the world. I never even thought about Arnie's medical bills! You're right, they must be huge! I bet Gilbert pays for those too, what a sweetheart
