Do you think Gilbert and Ellen & Amy would stay in touch after they went their seperate ways?
I've been pondering that and wondering how they would communicate if Becky and Gilbert and Arnie were constantly on the road.... perhaps they would stop in?

POSTCARDS! I bet Gilbert, Arnie, and Becky sent Amy and Ellen postcards from every stop they made And of course they would drop in once in a while. Gilbert's family had been his whole world for so long, he couldn't just give that up....

Well, Ellen had only just turned 16, so they must have stayed together for a while at least. After that though, I can see Ellen going off on her own and trying to create a new life, trying to leave the past behind her. She just seems like that kind of person.

Yes, I would imagine that as well... probably going off and starting a life with a boy... she seems like one that would be easily set off in a boy craze...
And she always fed off of attention... she needed that....
I think she would have to find it where she could... not always leading in good directions

Thats what I got too. She had never had a father figure in her life, and no one really pointed her in the right direction... Throughout the movie, you see her obsessing over looks and such. Definitely a boy crazy girl.

Which is really unfortunate because besides all of that I could see her being a very successful woman when she grows up... But a boy coming along may change all of that... possibly for the better?

hmmm..... I don't know whether that would be for the better... I've seen many friends of mine do worse in school because they spent too much time with their b/friends...

Thats true as well, Obsessed. But perhaps it would have given her some direction? Or she very well could do worse/get distracted from having a boyfriend. I suppose it really depends on the guy and how driven he was to succeed. That could definitely impact how she turned out.

Wow..umm..i really never even thought about it. What im guessing is since the girl and the grandma travel all the time, maybe they drop by to say "Hi" sometimes. Just a geuss.
