I have absolutely no idea what's on my bookshelf bookshelves, but I do know that I'm reading Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Train '72 for fun, Once and Future King for school and Return of the King for nostalgia. Probably halfway through lots of other books that I can't find anymore...

Well now, I've been reading a lot of books lately, all of them wonderful, and I've decided to share these with all of you in the hopes that you will find them wonderful too. All of The Dark Tower Series beginning with The Gunslinger: TDT I and ending with The Dark Tower: TDT VIIThese are not Sai King's normal fair of horror. This series is a weird Western/sci-fi/fantasy hibrid that is his self-proclaimed best work. The Baroque Cycle beginning with Quicksilver and ending with The System of the World by Neal Stephenson. This series of 3 books, each at least 800+ pages, are historical fiction/fantasy epics each, full of marvelous detail and realistic characters. These 10 books I mentioned are all at least 700+ pages each, and each of them excellent, so they should keep you busy for awhile. If not, lemme know and I'll think of something else. I read a lot. Also, if any of you would like to know anything further on the two series', lemme know. I've read 6 of one and am reading the 7th, and 2 out of 3 of the other and am reading the 3rd after I finish the 7th dark tower book. -The Fiend etc.

I always have several books going at once. Can't help it, I'm a Gemini. Usually at least one fiction one, one parenting one, and one spiritual one. Right now it's "Lasher" by Anne Rice, (a great fun spooky warped sexy read)
"Heart of Wicca" by the late Ellen Cannon Reed...this dear old curmudgeon-Crone had some brilliant observations about spiritual paths and I recommend this little book as food for thought even if you're not Wiccan. Wonder of wonders, she actually talks about ethics, the importance of hard training and research in the Craft, the nature of magic, and all kinds of good non-Fluffy stuff. (Fluffy BTW is a term used by Pagans to refer to those who are like "Hey, I watched every episode of Buffy and Charmed and I saw The Craft so like, I'm a Witch!")
"The Read-Aloud Handbook" by Jim Trelease (absolutely recommended for anyone who has or works with children...contains some awesome book recommendations)
and finally "What's Eating Johnny Depp?" which should come as no surprise to any of you all! Too much Winona in it if you ask me. Yawn.

Hey Hikaru, are you still reading Anne Rice's books? I loooveee them all. Especially the Vampire Chronicles, but hey, the Lives of the Mayfair Witches series is awesome too. Lasher is such a cool "villain" ;D I'm still working on the last Neal Stepehson book, The System of the World. I finished Stephen King's last one, and dear me, it was absolutely marvelous. I highly highly recommend that series-The Dark Tower-to everyone who likes fantasy, adventure, sci-fi, what-have-you. They are wonderful books. Well, back to my near 900 page historical fiction book. Wish me luck. -Fiend
