Hamster update!! (I told you I would update Roo! ;D) Ok, mummy 1's babies are doing really well. They even have fur now! And they all seem to be black and white which is really weird because both their parents are brown and white (isn't genetics wonderful? ;D) In a week or so they should have their eyes open and be wandering around then I can relocate them and finally count how many there are. Mummy 2 gave birth on Sunday and I'm not at all sure how many there are because I only got one glimpse of them. They seem quite big so my guess is that there are less in this litter. I can't wait to be able to play with them! ;D I'll keep you all informed of their progress

Oh wonderful. Glad to hear they are doing well... Now how long will it be until you can play with the little guys/gals?
All of our animals are doing good... but we just got some snow here brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! and the horses are getting MIGHT bushy/furry coats.

You got snow? Wow! Cool.
It'll be about a week probably before I can play with the first born litter and about two weeks before I can play with the others. ;D Can't wait!

Nope, I'm not going to name them or I'll become too attached to them and want to take them all home which unfortunately I can't do I have another update on my little hamlets though! Mummy 1 is doing fantastically well. She's really looking after her mega amount of babies well and they're all looking fit and healthy. I got my first proper look at her and the babies today and they're all fine. Most of the babies are black and white (like I said before) but there's at least one little brown one. I might be taking my dad in to see them on Monday and if he takes pictures I'll post them but it all depends on how mummy hamster is feeling. I'll be able to hopefully have a quick check of the babies next Thursday. Mummy 2's news is not so good. Although her babies are doing fine, I found a cut on her this afternoon and she was bleeding so I gave her some first aid (which is hard when you don't want to fiddle with her too much) and she seemed to settle down a bit after that but she does seem more agitiated than mummy 1 so I'm going to keep a close eye on her. Oh, and I can't tell whether they're boys or girls yet Roo...I probably won't be able to tell until they're about 4-5 weeks old and they're ready for new homes.

Oh.... okay, only goes to show I don't know much about rodents any more.... I'm into the large animal department now.... But I must say all animals are amazing... and I love your updates... I'm sure they will all get wonderful homes when they're ready... Do you ever get to keep any of them?

I've taken one home before, but he was sick and I wanted to help him unfortunately he didn't live for very long but he had a good life I can't really take on any more pets before I go to university now though so I'll just have to make sure they all go to nice homes which I'm sure they will. We might be getting geckos in the shop in the new year though, that will be very painful because I want one so badly! ;D I really hope we get some in though. Glad you like the updates Roo!

Geckos, awesome! My brothers and I would always catch geckos when we went on trips... not take them home of course... but play around with them... let them crawl up our hands.... then scare little girls with them... hehe... great fun!

Say hello to the most adventurous of the baby hamsters! I know it's not a very good picture, but it's better than nothing, right? I'm hoping to get some better pics on Saturday. Anyway, went to check on the babies and mums today and all of them are fine! They're doing great. This little chap decided to have his first walk around outside the nest while we were there. He's one of the first to have his eyes open. Hope you like him!

Hamster update! ;D All babies and both mummies doing well! The first litter have started to explore and their eyes are open. I gave them a quick cage clean out today and counted eight little guys but there could be more that escaped my notice. I made sure all of them looked healthy and they all passed my health check with flying colours. They've all been observed eating solid food too which is great. Mummy 2 is looking after her babies well but are much less active as they haven't got their eyes open yet but give it a few more days and I'll have a dozen little babies to play with...yay! Hope everyone's pets are well!
