The problem: I've gotten this brilliant idea to download CATCF trailers from the internet onto my computer. But I realize now that knowing how to download them is a vital step in the process. I don't suppose you have to pay for downloading trailers, as they've already been released worldwide. Free of charge, right? So, in short, I was wonderng if anyone knew how to download trailers from the internet. Any ideas, notions, or radical theories? I'm open to suggestions here. ;D

Well, Nutty, I have lots of suggestions for you, but there are just so many possibilities that we'll have to narrow it down first. Where do you want to download from? And I can tell you how to do it.

Thanks, CC! Very nice indeed. But would it bother you to do this again, just one more time? Because I do need to also snatch the clip on that same page called "Everything in This Room." That would be uber-helpful, cap-i-tan. ;D

If it will let you right click and save it, then do that... but sometimes that doesn't work. Sometimes you have to be sneaky. I'll try to explain the difference. If you click on a video link and your player opens (ie Quicktime, Windows Media, Real Player) then that link you can right click and save target as. If you click on a video link and it opens a new window with the video inside it in its own player, then that video file is embedded in the web page. And if you right click and save target as, you will save a web page, not a video file. Just like that Yahoo link that Nutty posted. SO! If you have an embedded video file and you want to save it... there are a couple of things you can try. 1. Right click on the page and select View Source. This will show you the web page code and you may be able to find the actual video link in there. But not always. 2. Look in your Temporary Internet Files folder. Those videos almost always have to download them into your Temp file so that you can watch it without it stopping to load the next bit. This is how I saved those Yahoo videos. And on my comp, the Temporary Internet Files was hard to find. I had to do a search to find it, because the folder was hidden. But once I found it, then I had to find the file! If your folder is like mine it's huge. So to help find it, sort the items by Last Accessed after you have watched the video you want to save. That file should then be the last video file in your Temporary Internet Files. DO NOT OPEN THE FILE! Right click and select copy. Then paste in the folder you would like it to be in on your computer. Then you can open the file. Btw, all of those yahoo videos have the filename 'makeplaylist' so you may have to copy/paste a few to make sure you got the right one. Does that make any sense?

Wow...that's a lot of work! I just download from a program like Limewire if I need them. That's how I was able to see the Corpse Bride and CATCF. Not the best quality, but I was able to see them. It'll tide me over till they come out on video.

Whoa! I'm not talking about downloading entire movies. I'm just talking about clips and trailers.

*sigh* We're all so tricksy. Well, thanks for all that anyway. It was really, really helpful. And now I don't have to bug people for Willy clips in the future. Thanks a bucket!

Ok, before I go any further. Downloading clips and trailers, though you may have to be devious to do it, is legal. Dowloading entire films is not. I will not discuss on this board how to do something illegal. Savvy?
Futhermore, if you use these clips and trailers to make your own videos, be very sure to included in your credits who owns those movies. Copyright infringement is real and as Iggy said you can get caught and you can get fined. Just don't do it.
Ok, done.
