Am I the only one that felt bad for the cook? The man made good food! There's no crime in that.
*Pulls out "Save the Cooks" rebelion signs and marches around the board.*
WHO'S WITH ME?!

Didn't like that scene, did we? As far as a crime goes, well, there's that infamous balance Sands is so fond of keeping. Makes you wonder if he ever came across a seriously BAD cook if Sands would need to balance him out too. Course, if everything seriously GOOD and seriously BAD were 'balanced out' as it were, we'd be left with mediocrity which (in my opinion) is worse than something seriously BAD. Eh. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. When you're finished pickiting, I've got a bucket of signs you can store yours in if you'd like.

*Shh don't tell the cooks, but I did actually like that scene. Just felt bad for the innocent cook!* I know that Sands likes to keep the balance, and that's fine, and all bad cooks should die (just kidding!) but I couldn't help but feel bad for the poor man! I also wanted to try some of that pork and see if Sands was right.

Arenas has a good point there. I wonder if Sands ever thought about the fact that he was leading the world toward mediocrity. I suppose there's justice in the fact that maybe he was too good an agent and that Fate decided to balance him out by taking away his eyes! Yipes.

Great irony right there. If it wasn't such and ugly situation, he'd probably be flattered to know (if he wasn't so sure already) that he would be considered one of the best. Good enough to be balanced out? Not quite... very good, but not too good. He's not totally out of the picture, you see. But this is all idle speculation. Maybe the cook just really was spectacular and Sands was just keeping the wellfare of Mexico in mind because the cook's pork could be deadly. So good, people die of happiness. Death by puerco pibil. And El knew this and spit it out in time? No, I don't have a flawless explanation to put that scene in a positive light.

Lovely sign, Rollie. Now all you need is a couple more, and an establishment to picket. Just not my bio thread! I don't shoot cooks either!

The music during that scene absolutely made it. That and the disbelief. He's not going to shoot the cook, nobody would be that mean. He's not going to shoot the cook. Hey wait... you're not thinking about it are you? You aren't going to... you CAN'T shoot the cook. HOLY CARP YOU JUST SHOT THE COOK! That was a fast reevaluation of his character. Never underestimated him since.

I find it amusing nobody noticed I changed from third person to second. Yes, I talk to the TV. Or maybe everybody else does too and doesn't mind? I'm wondering if he'd ever try and shoot someone like Emeril Legassi (sp?) or Wolfgang Puck? Or more importantly, if he'd ever tried. Unless he's got a grudge against Mexican cocineros, in which case... don't be a cook in Mexico.

Hahaha, good point Arenas.. you know those "Most Dangerous Jobs" list? Well, I think being a Mexican cook may need to start rising up there!
