My great grandma died today. She was 95 years old, and had been living in a nursing home/ hospital for awhile. She had been in a coma for a few days, so everything was pretty expected. I'm really just numb right now; I didn't know her incredibly well, but she was still a wonderful lady and I'm gonna miss her.

Oh Rollie Death is the hardest thing in the world to come to terms with. I hope this poem helps a little...you may well have heard it before. Nobody knows who wrote it. Do not stand by my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand by my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.

Death is... speechless. That poem is one of the best I've read about this. Anonymous, hmm? I might send it to this girl in one of my classes. Her mother died on Saturday. Just, so, so awful. Death is a terrible thing.

Rollie I am so sorry for your loss, this evening I can relate on some level. Though I know all experiences are different and I don't claim to know your pain or situation. I am here for you I'm having a horrible time this evening as well. My brother's ex~girlfriend Jessika was in a motor accident over the weekend and flown into a nearby hospital. Her friend was with her... and he died today in the hospital in the bed next to her. She said goodbye and he was gone. She watched as he was wheeled out for eight of his organs to be used to save the lives of others. And Jessika is paralyzed for the rest of her life having broken her back. My brother has been such a trooper. A year ago he was hospitalized when she dumped him. They had been going out 3 years and were planning on getting engaged in the future... and he couldn't deal with her leaving him. His body went into shock. And then we get the call from her father a night ago saying she wanted our family to know and pray for her. That she can talk and move her arms but nothing more. I at school with my messed up ankle was hobbling about on crutches and had two major tests and all of this just whirlwinding.

That's terrible, Rollie and Roo! What a horrible experience for your brother's ex-girlfriend, Roo. But what everyone has to remember is that, though times can be hard, you have to remember the ones who love you and want you to get through the worst in life. Everyone effected by death and the like will see better days if they just hold tightly to the ones who love them.

A seventh grader at my school died this morning. They told us in 6th period. There were people crying for most of the day. I don't know how he died though. His name was Robert Schoolcraft. It makes me think about my life.

Oh I am so sorry about everyone's losses.I myself had two losses last year. In May,my husband's great gramma passed away. SHe was 85. She'd been saying for about a month she was ready to go to Heaven..and one night she did, with everyone in the family who could be there. at her side. She died at home in her own bed. Then in September, my maternal gramma passed away from brain cancer. I think out of all the grandchildren i took it the hardest. SHe taught me so much, and I just couldn't believe such a good lady like her could die from something so horrible. She was 77. I liked the poem, Jay... becuase no one is ever really gone as long as we keep them alive in our hearts.

Oh wow, I'm sorry Roxie and LM. Roxie, how did the sixth grader die? That's really sad. Unfortunetely, my great aunt passed away too last week. It was sad, but she was bipolar and had cancer, and was going through a lot of struggles. I found out after she died that she used to be obsessed with "15th century Irish pirate queens." Too cool... however, along with this goes a lot of conflicts that emerged witin my family, so I've been kinda out of it lately trying to deal with everything. For the most part, everything is ok... I just really hate deep dark family secrets.
