Huh... Maybe that's why we're all so in love with Willy Wonka. Because he's more or less a combination of all our favorite Johnnies. Wow, that pretty deep... *falls off chair*

I loved his eyes and his porcelain doll look ;D When next to the crowds of people he looked so majestic. Cannot forget that And when he goes and meets his dad.... they both have on rubber gloves and make them sqeak So cute! Did anyone think the headgear on Willy's braces were a bit extreme? I felt bad for that poor child I loved the hair cut with his hat on, but when we saw his bangs it made me giggle,

Hehe me too, Roo. Without his hat, his head was rather bell shaped with that hair cut. I thought young Wonka was SO cute! What a cute kid! I thought the head gear a bit extreme as well, but his Dad was fanatic so... And the matching gloves! Definitely something Wonka wore as a comfort thing, probably having heard the noise constantly as a child. I saw it again and it just keeps getting better! *sings* Augustus Gloop, Augustus Gloop, the great big greedy nincompoop (or something close to that, lol)

FINALLY SAW IT! So... um, that was totally flippin awesome. Oh yes. It was. A lot. From all the trailers and such, I was really apprehensive about this Willy Wonka... he was giving me a Michael Jackson-ish vibe. Ew. BUT after finally seeing the whole thing, I just loved it. Oh so much. I am so completely stealing the mumble jokes, for use at the childcare center I work at. That is sheer brilliance. I think my favorite kid-gets-what-he-deserves moment is Mike Teavee's. Working with kids, I can absolutely relate with that situation- kids whose imaginations have been sucked out through their televisions and who want everything explained logically and definitely instead of participating in any creative fantasy. Sometimes, so frustrating! To Roald Dahl for the mumbling bit. My absolute favorite part. Oh, and Charlie's response to Mike: "Candy doesn't have to have a point. That's why it's candy." Again, brilliance.

Wasn't it great? And for once I actually agree with the bupkis critics when they call CATCF, "an instant classic." People won't forget it easily. ;D

Did he realy remind you of Micheal Jackson CC? like I love Michael Jackson and all but when people(practically every magazine) say Johnny loks like michael jackson I seriously just dont understand it.
well maybe the perfectly pail skin and black hair but thats about it. because Michael jackson loves kids and such..and Willy wonka hates kids...and family.
ya know..
just wondering what it is that reminds people of michael Jackson ;D

Well people said it was the pale skin, and the high voice, and not that he didn't like kids, but that he was inviting kids to his own little "neverland" as some magazines have called it, but no, I didn't understand it either, and neither did Johnny it would seem.

"...the pale skin, and the high voice, and not that he didn't like kids, but that he was inviting kids to his own little 'neverland' "
That's what reminded me of Michael Jackson...

Ok, it was not that Johnny reminded me of MJ. It was that in the trailers, Willy Wonka had kind of a MJ-ish vibe. A wierdness, that was rather unsettling. But again, I think it was how the trailers were cut, because I did not get that in the movie.
