Yeah, he was sporting a bit of a MJ. / Marilyn Manson look... but not attitude. I can see where you got that from CC, I noticed it a bit too. But the film was just too perfect to have that matter much, and it didn't carry through. I didn't think the publicity via. TV commercials were great, at least not in my area, I think that could have been worked better and given off a nicer flare of the film. I mean, in the movie there was a ton of depth and great morals about family and values... and I know many people were scared off by the trailers and things... to the film

I didn't really see (and still haven't seen) any trailers for CATCF on TV around here, but then again, I don't watch that much TV. I was a little concerned with the likeness to Marilyn Manson (ok, so I might be a little judgemental when it comes to purple contacts, whiter than white skin, and odd hairdos ) but once I saw the movie, it was all Johnny. And other Johnnies at times. But all Depp.

Ok, it was not that Johnny reminded me of MJ. It was that in the trailers, Willy Wonka had kind of a MJ-ish vibe. A wierdness, that was rather unsettling. But again, I think it was how the trailers were cut, because I did not get that in the movie. That's how most of the people I went with to watch the movie felt like afterwards.

Well yes, the ending is somewhat different because of the added story with Wonka's father being a dentist, and his deprivation of candy in his childhood. In the book, when Charlie asks if his family can come with hmi to the factory, Wonka says yes, in this movie, he says no, but then it goes on to some other stuff, and everything turns out ok in the end

Personally I really love the ending I think it was absolutely perfect in that everyone and their mother already know whats going to happen in the movie. They know that all the kids would get messed up and Charlie and his family would go live in the factory.. But then Tim Burton played a little trick on us all and actually surprised us in a movie that everyone knows the storyline to...when That part happened in the theatre I heard many Gasps... So I thought it was nice he made it interesting with a littl twist.

Yeah, I liked the twist too. At first I was like, "No! They can't end it like this!" But then I saw that everything turned out well in the end.

Oooh, oooh! I finally saw it! ;D And I cannot stop grinning. It was far too perfect, exactly what I wanted (being a big fan of the book and all). I loved the change to the ending too...I thought it took away any predictability, and we got to see sad Wonka, which was just too cute My favourite bits were any part with Johnny on the screen, he absolutely stole the smeeping show...although I did love Freddie, it was breaking my heart at the beginning when he was trying to find a Golden Ticket! I loved how Wonka and Charlie sort of built up an indirect friendship during the tour. The only bit I would change (and it's only little!) is I would have made Augustus thin But I can see why they didn't because Mike ends up thin too. "Taffy puller?!" "Hey, that was my idea!" Seeing it again on Sunday....can't wait! ;D

AMAZING! Saw it yestaurday and loveddddddd it amazing ! Firstly i wasnt to sure of the children i dint think their acting was particulary good they seemed to just wait for their line rather than be a character but as soon as Johnny came on OMG amaaaaaaazing so good oh he i just im speechless (almost!) he just gave the character such an unexpected twist and i much prefer a lone some and sexy wonka to genes creeepy one! Great cant wait to see it again and loved what they did with the ending plus the audience laughed alot and clapped at the end!!!!!

Yup, still as great. ;D But I did notice something. Does anyone else think that Mike Teevee resembles a very short Christopher Walken?
