HA! I just finished watching the film yesterday after more than four months of waiting. And guess what? IT WAS AWESOME!!! Fear and Loathing was a great piece of work - weird in it's ways, but great because of it. It had a wonderful outlook on the corrupt, commericalized, propaganda that is our dear, sweet America, and all the little touches and quirks Johnny acted out as Duke were fantastic, but in the good way. *sighs* It left me with new respect for everything and a bounding, unstoppable adrenaline rush that could have driven me right on through a marathon. Anyway, it was a great film so uh... hats off to the cast and crew. *tips tiny fez hat*

Bravo description, A of Q. I am sublimely pleased that you enjoyed Fear and Loathing. You are absolutely right. The delicious quirks Johnny gives to his performance as Duke is one of the reasons I love him so. The pre-Jack Sparrow hand gesturres especially tickled my fancy. ;D Thanks for the comments!! And welcome to JA!!! -Fiend

Glorious! Tremendous! Absolutley wonderful, and even more stunning! What remarkly things you have now shown me, Fiend. Oh dear, what WAS I talked about? Ah yes, the uh... hand gestures. I HADN'T THOUGHT OF THAT! Yes, yes, you're totally right! Duke (bless his gorgeous body) has the same, weird, awesome, WONDERFUL quirky hand gestures that we all know and love Capp'n Jack for!!! That. Is. Great. Oh my, I'm running out of adjectives. And I see that my typing is going wonky as well *goes back to check* yes, yes it is. I must now fly to the POTC thread where I can use my current verging-on-drugness situation to it's most wonderful (I told you I was running out of adjectives) potential. See you later, you lucky girl, you, (I say lucky because you're already and Angel)

SO happy to hear that people can appreciate the offbeat humor of this film. A lot of my friends were just overwhelmed by the insanity of it, unfortunately. This is definitely my favorite Johnny movie. I don't know if any of you have seen any footage of Hunter Thompson, but he does such a freakin' fantastic job.

Oh Lynx such a wonder you finally got to see it. So many hysterical moments... whacking at a bat with a fly swatter.... short shorts.... the walk.... the talk.... the American flag flying in the wind over Raoul's shoulders as he squats on a boulder...

Right back at ya Fiend ;D "We can't stop here!" Dr Gonzo was one scary, scary man...he freaked me out with that knife of his But I did love the way he said , "As your attorney I think you should..." And you just knew it wouldn't be something good "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."--what a beautiful quote

That was indeed a lovely quote. I used to have a siggy that used that quote. *grows nostalgic* Them's were da days. Oh, I also loved "I just want to cut a little Z on your forehead." -Fiend
