I fully agree. He just looks so...so...incredulous. Like he would never even consider doing something like that. ;D I just love that man, let's face facts. And he and Johnny mesh superbly. The act like long lost pals. Heh. F&L's a buddy movie. -Fiend

Yerp. And while on the subject of that quote, "...To weird to live, too rare to die." There's this one really good piece of F&L fanfic I read recently on fanfiction.net whose title goes by that quote. The author did a great, funny job with Duke. Good writing. It's not for child's eyes, censorship-wise, but then again... so was the movie. Here's the link if anybody's interested: www.fanfiction.net/s/2058172/1/

Confession time: I never managed watching this one! I mean I bought the dvd, I've watched about 20 minutes of it and just couldn't stomach it longer. That was about 7 months ago. It is the one and only movie where I can't go pass Johnny and see the character, I kept thinking how strange he looked and the whole paranoia thing just totally put me off.
As I said I have the dvd and after reading all your comments here I might just give it a go again, but I really think I have to be in the right mood for it.
Help!

You should watch the rest of it, I was a bit "woah" when I first watched it but I found it so funny in the end.
But doesn't it show how good an actor Johnny is when you can't really recognise him through the state he's in? hehe.
((And I just have to add this is my 99th post! haha))

Thanks for the tips, girls. A friend gave me the book so I might give it a go first.
I promise I'll watch (sometime! haha) and come back to tell you all about it. I'm sure I'll like it, it's Johnny for crying out loud, but he looks so ... so ... so ... Hunter-like, I guess is the word I'm looking.

Oh yeah, you absolutely have to be in the right mood for this one! I know loads of people who hate it, but if you're chilled out and feeling slightly crazy yourself then it'll hit the spot. I think watching it with a friend helps. I watched it with my spaciest, craziest friend and we had the best time ;D I haven't read the book. One I should definitely add to the list.

I've watched it! I finally watched it and I loved it!
I loved Johnny in it (of course!), I loved Benicio del Toro, I loved the music and I love the messages of the movie, about the 70s, about the drugs, everything. I can't believe I was so reserved! It's such a funny movie and yet so different that anything!
Definitely one of my favourites now.
