You know what I think? I think that since the Flying Dutchman needs "a living heart" that either Jack or Barbossa becomes the captain of the Flying Dutchmen (because we all know that Will is going to put a dagger through Davy's heart), and that the other one gets the Black Pearl. That's what I think. Just to clarify...Barbossa is alive, right? Jack shot him in the heart, but somehow he lived (like in OUaTiM when Salma Hayek shot General Marquez in the heart and he lived)? Also, if Jack the monkey stole a piece of the cursed treasure, shouldn't the former Black Pearl crew still be cursed? (including Barbossa, the guy with the wooden eye, and that other guy)

Well i'm not sure on the details of Barbossa, but I would imagine he's alive. But it does bring about the question of 'How the heck?!' but I guess that's what is going to make people come back to see the third About Jack the monkey, just because he stole a piece of the gold doesn't neccesarily mean the whole crew should be cursed. The curse only applies to the one who has taken gold from the chest. No one else has taken any of the gold after the whole repaying the debt hoopla. Just the crazy monkey

That's what I think. But the Pearl is (apparently again) on the bottom of the ocean. How's Jack gonna get Davy Jones to raise it up again, if... 1. he's dead, or at least in the belly of the Kraken, 2. he didn't pay off his first debt with his soul or the 100 other souls, and 3. Davy lost his heart? Also, if Jack the monkey stole a piece of the cursed treasure, shouldn't the former Black Pearl crew still be cursed? (including Barbossa, the guy with the wooden eye, and that other guy) We've still got people who don't get this curse? No, it's just the monkey this time. Last time, all of the crew of the Black Pearl took coins out and spent them and such, but in order to break the curse, they ALL had to put them back and repay the blood. This included Jack at the end of the curse because he had taken out a coin before the curse was broken, and therefore added to the curse, and his blood was then also needed to break the curse. The monkey took out another gold coin after the credits of the movie, and since the curse had already been broken, started a new curse which involved only him. (Lucky for everyone else that the island sank soon after and no one else joined into that curse or else they would have a time finding the monkey and the chest, eh?) But since the island is now gone, poor Jack the monkey seems to be cursed for eternity. Aww.

Davy lost his heart? Well, whoever has the heart controls the ocean (or the 7 seas). So all Jack has to do is slice his way out of the Kraken and steal the heart back from the East India Co. Then he could raise the Pearl up again himself (unless the Kraken broke it in half with those giant tentacles). I think he could handle that... #jack# We've still got people who don't get this curse? Yeah, I'm a little slow. But it's not exactly straightforward...

Davy lost his heart? 1) Jack is dead, but so was Barbossa. Tia Dalma apparently has some wicked voodoo magic. Not to mention she asked Liz, Will and Co. if they were willing to raise both the Pearl and her Captain. 2) Jack can (presumably) be brought back by the same wicked voodoo magic and won't need to pay off his dept if... 3) Will stabs Davy's errant heart, thus killing the squid-man. But they need the Pearl in order to get it back from Norrington and Beckett and Co. BTW, CC - I had this horrible dream last night where you were resigning your angelhood. It's the closest I've come to having a nightmare in years.

Barbossa is eating an apple. That seems like an excellent measure of whether or not he's alive. Ok, sorry, stupid question. But he was able to eat and drink when he was dead. He just couldn't enjoy it.

You know, I actually came really close to thinking about that Psnoo, but didn't. I've just been so long without my compie that I'm getting sad without it.

Lol. Yeah, I definitely took the apple as a sign that he was not cursed, and he was alive. Which would make sense, because the curse was in fact broken.

There's another possibility...if Davy takes his own heart back. Maybe he and his lady love--whoever that may be--get back together and he takes his heart back into himself it would set all his crew free. Just a thought. They've made Davy a pretty sympathetic character...I'd hate to see him just killed. DB daydreams on green apples and no-longer-dead pirates...

OKay, so I might be completely out of it but, I was watching POTC1 the other night and when Jack was about to lose his life(be hung) there were drums beating. When they stopped, he was hung(but Will saved him, you know the story). Well in POTC2, the drums stopped when Jack was about to lose his life(be eaten), also.... Maybe its just a coincidence, but does that mean Jack isnt dead... I dunno, just a thought that popped into my head a Jack was going to be hung...

Well, having the drum roll cut off is a traditional sign of sorts. You know...
"rumblerumblerumble...man gets shot out of a canon"
"rumblerumblerumble...death"
"rumblerumblerumble...Norrington's a commodore"
It's more a sign that something significant is going to happen. But that's a great catch about Jack and the drum roll. I totally didn't even notice it. And it could very well be that Gore's trying to let the vigilalent in on a little secret. Definitely food for thought. Great catch, JSG!

Oh, very good catch, JSG. I like it. Sandswich, we promise to be nice. So being the musical dork that I am, I wonder if I've found a few clues in the new soundtrack (that I just got last night and love)... So the first time I watched the movie, I was dissappointed in the score because all I heard were the familiar bits of themes from the first film. But, after a second viewing and a few soundtrack listenings, I have changed my tune. And found a few possible clues... 1. Jack Sparrow - I love Jack's new theme! Very like him, I thought. And there are bits of the old 'Clever Jack' theme from the first film (used 3 times- breaking his chains in the forge, sneaking with will under the boat, and about to fall off the battlements at the end). 2. The Kraken - I just love how they've used organ in this score, so ominous in this track and achingly beautiful in the next one. This is all new to my knowledge. 3. Davy Jones - Absolutely gorgeous use of the music box, which explodes into this organ extravaganza which nearly pulled my heart right out too. My favorite track, hands down. All new music. 4. I've Got My Eye on You - I'll get back on this one. 5. Dinner is Served - Jungle Boogie? Loved the silly bit in the middle where they're swinging the round cages. Think this is all new music, too. 6. Tia Dalma - Here's some interesting tidbits. I picked out several of musical bits from the first film, and all of them either related to Barbossa or the cursed Black Pearl. A coincidence? I doubt it. 7. Two Hornpipes - The Tortuga tavern song, lol. It's pretty catchy! Perhaps it should be called 'The Continuous Bar Fight' song or 'Jack Tries on Hats' or 'Lizzie Bashes Drunk Norry on the Head.' I think this music was in the first film, but not on the soundtrack. 8. A Family Affair - Will and Bootstrap. I'll get back on this one too. 9. Wheel of Fortune - Needs further investigation. 10. You Look Good Jack - Coming back on this one. 11. Hello Beastie - Needs another listen. 12. He's a Pirate Remix - Erm, ok. It's not exactly bad, but it's not exactly good either.
