I noticed that ;D I love the creepy Barbossa-esque music.
Doesn't her track also have music box parts to it too? Yep, listening to it now. So, judging by music alone, she appears to be connected to every single character in some way ;D

I was all, "It does? No it doesn't. I'm listening to that track right now." And then the music box theme entered the scene and I felt stupid.

Okay this is extremely Random...but something really cool I noticed while watching it is that when the Flying dutchmen is diving under water...if you watch Davvy Jones's beard, the tenticals hold onto his hat so his hat doesnt fly off..i just noticed that and thought it was totally cool that they added in the smallest detail like that.
Randomness Complete.

Like spaghetti....this movie was much better the second time 'round. I finally got myself to the theater today, to see the movie again. I had a total blast. All my expectations were way down, which allowed me to not make comparisons but just enjoy this movie for what it is. I really had fun this time with Jack the jerk-- giving him room to just be a smeeping pirate! That's what he is, after all. How'd I miss that, CC? Once again, as with the first time, I was totally enthralled by the Will and Bootstrap subplot. Everything to do with Bootstrap, the whipping scene, the release of the Krakken, the dice scene -- all of these moments of father angst touched me deeply. Gentle Bootstrap has found a place in my heart. Of course he can't take the place of my Barbossa, but there is room in my heart for both. I'm still torn as to whether Jack was trying to lure the Krakken away from the Pearl when he took off in the rowboat. There is that telling moment when he looks at the Pearl, opens the compass, and suddenly he knows his course. At this one moment, he understands what he truly wants. Is it to die? Is it the Pearl? Elizabeth? Or simply to be a good man? All of those questions lead me to believe that he was abandoning his friends when he left in the boat. I loved him looking at the compass. It immediately brought back Tia Dalma's line: "Ah. Jack Sparrow doesn't know what he wants." I love how she delivers that line. And I love how Jack spends the whole movie trying to figure that out. As I said, I had a much better time the second time around. I may even go in for a triple dip. ;D

YAY! Welcome aboard the ship of DMC luv, DB! Wasn't Bootstrap wonderful? So, so sad. I do hope he has a stroke of luck in the next film, I feel he is overdue. But yeah, Barbossa rules! So happy you had a great time! ;D

I really had fun this time with Jack the jerk-- giving him room to just be a smeeping pirate! That's what he is, after all. How'd I miss that, CC? Probably because he never said "Pirate," in that "hello, duh," voice. All of those questions lead me to believe that he was abandoning his friends when he left in the boat. Jack was being a total rat. I never doubted that. At the end of CotBP everyone was talking about how Jack was a good pirate and a good man. Well, you can't really be both. You can be a good pirate and a very bad man (Barbossa), you can be a bad pirate and a good man (Will), or you can be a bit of a screw up at both (Jack). That's my theory.

I think Jack wants to be good at both, but has a hard time making the two work together- who wouldn't? Yay for DB! Welcome aboard, mate.

GAHH!!! Look what I found at the Disney main page for DMC! (Spoilers ahead, so go carefully....) v v v v v v v v v okay...from the mouse's mouth... v v v v v "...Originally, the Black Pearl was a mechant vessel under the employment of the East India Trading Company named the Wicked Wench, helmed by Captain Jack. After refusing to complete an assignment, Lord Cutler Beckett sanctioned the torching (and sinking) of the Wicked Wench, and branded Jack Sparrow a pirate. Jack petitioned Davy Jones to retrieve his ship that he rechristened as: the Black Pearl."
What do you all think of that?

Though, that was the usual path to piracy. Still, there must be some larger than life aspect to the story (other than the whole Davy Jones thing). We are talking about Captain Jack Sparrow here.

That we are, Psnoo ;D Certainly makes a potential Jack Sparrow/Cutler Beckett meeting very interesting. Beckett may have done wrong by Jack but he did the rest of the world a favour

You know what I found incredibly ironic and am wondering if the writers did on purpose? It's the part where Will's telling Jack that Liz is in prison and facing the noose for helping him and Jack says, "There comes a time when one has to take responsibility for one's mistakes," and then Liz is the one that ends up forcing Jack to take responsibility for the deal he made with Davy Jones.

Whoa, that backstory begs the question--- what did non-pirate Jack look like?!
